Wells: Indiana Pacers To Hire Kevin Pritchard?

Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star reports that another former Portland Trail Blazers GM could get scooped up... ---------------------- The Indiana Pacers are in the process of hiring former Portland GM Kevin Pritchard, according to multiple sources. It's unclear what Pritchard's role will be with the Pacers but he'll work under President Larry Bird and GM David Morway, according to sources. Pritchard's contract is for 1 year and he's being brought in to help scout and in free agency since the Pacers will be under the salary cap. ---------------------- Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that Pritchard's title will be "Director of Player Personnel." Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports that Pritchard and the Pacers have entered into a relatively unique contract agreement. Pritchard joining the Pacers has been rumored for some time, dating back to at least January. That report surfaced around the same time word came out that Pritchard was doing some consulting for and travelling with the Pacers last season. During his first interview in more than a year last week, Pritchard said he would take Portland's open GM job if offered. It's been a busy summer for former Blazers GMs. Rich Cho was hired recently to serve as GM of the Charlotte Bobcats. Steve Patterson was tabbed as the COO of Arizona State University's Athletic Department. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
