Blazers G Patty Mills: In His Own Words

3

Portland Trail Blazers guard Patty Mills did an "in his own words" piece for the Sydney Morning Herald in Australia. ------------------------- I've had two years now in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers. It's been great but it's a business. I have improved in terms of my style and play and learnt different types of plays. I've been offered a qualifying contract, which was the same as before (two years). The NBA lockout is unfortunate. There are opportunities to play - there are some offers from the NBL - and I'm going to look at every option available. In Portland I have developed a great friendship with Rudy Fernandez - the Spanish superstar. We now have an annual holidaying vacation in Spain, which is something to cherish. A joke between Rudy and I that became popular with the fans in Portland - who are great and appreciative - involves the three goggles. It's about not being able to see a bad shot. In one game, Rudy was struggling from the three-point line and then he sunk one. He gestured to the bench that he was now wearing glasses, in a sense saying that "I can see". ------------------------- Hat tip: ASternWarning.com -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
