Jerry Zgoda of StarTribune.com reports that former Portland Trail Blazers guard and current Blazers Broadcasting sideline reporter and television analyst Terry Porter will interview with the Minnesota Timberwolves to serve as their next head coach. ------------------------- Former Timberwolves player and former Milwaukee and Portland head coach Terry Porter today is the first candidate to formally interview for the team's head-coaching job, according to league sources. David Kahn has made background research calls and talked by phone to at least one other candidate -- Don Nelson -- but Porter is the first to come to town to interview with Kahn and likely owner Glen Taylor. ------------------------- Porter previously served as head coach of the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks. Blazers assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff was also linked to the position recently. No word yet whether Rebecca Haarlow and/or Runnin' Anne Schotz will also be considered for the position. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
