Blazers F LaMarcus Aldridge Wonders About Overseas Option

On Tuesday, Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge tweeted... -------------------- I wonder if D Will needs a big man to play with overseas ?! Hmmm -------------------- The reference is to New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams, who agreed to terms on a one-year deal with Besiktas of the Turkish league last week. The deal reportedly includes an opt-out clause should the NBA return from its lockout. Aldridge and Williams are in very different positions in terms of their contracts. Williams will have the ability to opt-out of his current contract following the 2011-2012 season. Aldridge is signed with the Blazers through 2014-2015. A number of NBA players have made noise about playing overseas -- including All-Stars like Kevin Durant, Amar'e Stoudemire and others -- but Williams is the only high level player who has agreed to terms on a deal so far. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
