Could we have drafted BOTH Faried and Smith

I don't know about the rest of you, but it seems to me that the Blazers got very little value for Rudy.  Since draft night, I have been wondering why Buchanan did not explore trading Rudy to Minnesota in exchange for the 20th pick.  It would have been a good deal for the T Wolves who seem to have nothing on their roster but PF's and PG's.  And, Rudy's presence would likely have made Rubio's transition to the NBA easier.

I think the salaries would have matched up since Rudy was still in his rookie deal.

If Portland would have made that deal and drafted Faired and Smith back to back (while still making the trade for Felton), I think we all would have come away from the draft feeling a lot better.

Any idea if this was ever discussed by Blazer management?
