I like Nolan Smith, I think he'll do well eventually, but I have been one of those people who has been disappointed with the overall results of this draft, feeling that we should have gotten more and addressed our needs better. After having a few days to digest the draft a bit though, I'm a bit happier with it. I think that some day Nolan may become a starter for us, and he seems like a decent guy. Like others, my memory of the past is also short, and after having perused the Blazer's draft history over the past 10 years again, I'm not as inclined to berate Chad Buchanan for having done a poor job. It would seem that his predecessors were often even worse, drafting guys who eventually contributed little to the team, were not long term starters, and were often lacking in ability. Barring the trades that netted us Roy, Aldridge and Batum, almost all the other moves we have made in the draft in the past 10 years looks pretty bad. So, a toast to Chad Buchanan, I still think you could have done better, but at least you are no worst than all the rest.
