Tony Parker Trade?
What about a trade for Tony Parker? He wants to play for a contender what better place than Portland. I am thinking Andre Miller with $7.4 million and Wes Matthews at $6.5 million would close to Tony Parker's salary at $13.5. I hate to give up Wes Matthews, but it is a position where the Blazers are loaded with young talent and we still have some proven talent. The Spurs would get a quality point guard with room to rebuild and a solid young two guard in Wes Matthews! The Blazers would get a solid point guard that has several good years left that can push the tempo and score at will!

We will have to give up something to get one of the needs taken care of. I would rather give up Matthews than Batum. Batum can defend more positions with his length—we saw that against Dallas. Batum’s cost/benefit to payroll is far greater. In the end an experienced PG will take the Blazers deeper into the playoffs. Look at Jason Kidd for Dallas!
Miller and Wallace
if that’s the only package the Spurs will accept…deal or no deal?

I want Blair coming back this way, as well

if you can get TP and Blair for Miller and Wallace, it's done in 60 seconds.

no deal
Crash needs to retire a Blazer, just not any time soon.
I am not giving up on Greg or Brandon.

San Antonio wants to move up in the draft in exchange for Parker...
So you may just have to offer them something ridiculous like Miller and Matthews for Parker since we don’t have a high pick. I very much agree that Batum is more versatile then Matthews., I love Matthews grit and determination. But it’d be well worth it to get Parker, who’s in his prime, has experience, and is a champion. Plus, having the French duo of Parker and Batum would be awesome! Now if we could only work out a way for Minnesota to be involved… sending their #2 pick to San Antonio, we don’t have to trade Matthews, and we along with San Antonio can send some of our older guys to Minnesota to mentor their young team.

That is a solid idea.
Minny could improve big time with some added vets and this draft sucks.

It's a numbers game!
The appeal for the Spurs is not Wes Matthews it is Andre Miller. The Spurs are in Luxury Tax right now with an ageing team that needs to be re-built. Andre Miller’s contract would give them the ability to waive his 7.8 million. The Blazers are right on the edge with luxury tax as well so the salaries have to match up to make the trade work.

But what would work
Being a wolf fan, I wouldn’t mind trading the pick for some vets, but what do you propose??

Not a bad option also!
That might work for both teams. That would give the Blazers some cap room and the Spurs an expiring contract.

Tony Parker
Can we just stop with the Tony Parker BS. San Antonio, if they do this at all, will do it to move up into the Top 7 tomorrow. Someone mentioned any deal with San Antonio would require them to throw in DeJuan Blair. That’s interesting because it’s just one more example of a player the Blazers could have had but were inexplicably more interested in drafting another European (Claver) who will probably never play a game in the NBA. Just more fuel on the fire that the Blazers drafting over the past 6 or 7 years has been as poor as any team in the NBA.
I think we also need to get over the idea that we have players that other teams covet and would love to add to their rosters. As Dwight said, the Blazers seem to value Batum and Mathews much more highly than other teams in the NBA. As he said, we’re not going to get a franchise player by cleaning out our basement.
I’ll go out on a limb and predict that tomorrow will end with the Blazers not making any kind of a deal at all. Their 21st pick will ensure yet another 1st round playoff exit and yet another late teen to early 20’s pick again next year.
Fans better get used to it because with Oden leaving after next year, it’s not going to get better any time soon.
