If San Antonio wants a lottery pick, Toronto makes senes.
Something like Tony Parker and Richard Jefferson for Jose Calderon, Ed Davis, and the 5th pick.

Not only does San Antonio get younger, but it also saves itself a ton of money going forward and stays relatively competitive in the meantime.

i actually think Ed Davis and #5 is too much
that’s a #9 overall pick and a #5 overall pick for Parker. A few years ago, yes. But now? Not so much

Yeah, I expect that Toronto would ultimately decline such a deal.
It seems like something that’d be proposed by San Antonio, though.

Babbitt makes it a no deal

Does this change anything?
Via Mark Stein:
San Antonio, as I hear it, wants to attach Richard Jefferson to any Tony Parker deal. Can’t see that appealing to Raps. Or Kings. Or …

Still…IF we had to give up Miller and Wallace instead of Batum to get Parker….

Why not grab George Hill instead?
Apparently he’s only worth a late first round pick to the spurs and he did destroy the mavs two years ago.

they won't deal him
He’s in the same boat as DeJuan Blair and Gary Neal. High output for low salary. San Antonio is a lot smarter than that.

PORTLAND - Parker, A. Randolph, Tolliver SAN ANTONIO - Batum MINNESOTA - A. Miller, Fernandez, R. Jefferson, McDyess
PORTLAND does this to get a younger championship experienced point guard in Parker, get an athletic backup PF in Randolph (or use as trade bait to try and move up a few spots in the draft), and an additional backup PF/C in Tolliver (who we could also try and use as trade bait). We can now draft a backup PG, SG, SF, PF, or C. SAN ANTONIO does this to get youth and potential in Batum, Minnesota’s #2 pick, get out of the oft injured Richard Jefferson contract, and also rid them of age in McDyess. I’m not sure what type of player or for what position San Antonio’s trying to move up in the draft for, but that could change some of these pieces. MINNESOTA does this to get a player who’ll have instant chemistry with Rubio, and to get exactly what they need, experience from Richard Jefferson, McDyess, and Miller. I played around with a few other players involving these three teams and a lot of variations worked.
