Rich Cho slammed! Who will we get now? That's the question after the Blazers fired their G.M. Rich Cho after their first round exit in the playoffs. This comes as a surprise and truthfully really means that this franchise has problems. Change! We all are scared that this team will become once again the "Jail Blazers" but I can tell you one thing Jail Blazers is a better name then "Trail Losers". My dad is a Boston Celtic fan and understands winning me, on the other hand, I am a Blazer fan and I am accustomed to failure, losing, and disappointment as a fan of the Blazers.
This city, franchise, and fan base is afraid of one thing, change. We don't mind failure but God forbid that we change this team and turn them into "bad guys", or villians of the leauge (the Heat got the memo). Lets be honest here, this team will never win a championship unless we move on and admit that picking Oden over Durant was a huge mistake ( trust me many still don't get it, Oden was a mistake). Paul Allen needs to get his head out of where it don't shine and look around and understand that he can't fire a good G.M. and expect to get a better one in return. Cho helped this team get Gerald Wallace at the trade deadline for almost nothing and got this team physically better and tougher in less than a few months. The culture in Portland changed the minute we got Wallace and helped this team tremendously.
This team needs to get some players that aren't afraid to foul hard and talk a littile trash once in awhile and not be afraid to stand up and get physical. That's why Gerald Wallace is good for this team, he made Aldrige nastier and got him to rebound and stand tall in the middle. Portland needs to get rid of princess Rudy and find a guard off the bench that can actually bump into someone without breaking a nail, then go out and get a point guard that can jump and get to the rim with no effort (CP3 anyone?). The biggest thing we need to do is get rid of all the foreign prospects and get players that can play instead of waiting to see them for 3 years. Also enough with the dumb picks, Luke Babbitt was an absolute waste of a top 25 pick.
The waiting game is getting old around here and I want to get Oden on the court and give him one shot this year and if he blows it, then only sign him to a year extension. I would love to see some trade options and see who we can get for Batum and Miller in a deal, and find a place to fit them in with Camby and swing a deal to get a point guard that can get to the basket and actually shoot like an NBA player not like an old man (Miller sucks my grandpa jumps higher than him). I hate to see Batum go because he is such a good player with upside but the reality is if we don't want to stay in the first round, we need to get a franchise point guard and build around him and Aldridge for the next ten years. This team needs to get a point guard then see what can happen with Aldridge, Wallace, a franchise point (if not a really good one) and Oden who still can bring it.
This team really needs to get a reality check because the fact is Paul Allen has money but doesn't have any guts. We need to settle on a G.M. and let the man do his job and make trades to get this team better. That's all we need a smart guy to control and get this team ready for an apprearance in the NBA Finals (which seems alot farther away then it was three years ago). This team had a really bright future a few years ago but thanks to a young kid with old age and bad looks and some bad luck the future is not as bright but we can gather some of it back with the right moves.
