Good golly.
Q: "Why are the Heat losing?"

Chad ford is reporting that its not the blazers but the heat
@chadfordinsider :Bottom line. He’s got a promise. It’s not Celtics, Nets or Blazers. It’s Heat at 31. But it doesn’t stop a team from drafting him higher

makes a lot of sense.
makes me want us to take him just to screw with the heat even though I’ve been rooting for a big.

nbadraft.net says it's them.
I’ve heard both OKC and Heat so far. This is the first time I heard we were the promise. Don’t believe it.
Plus the legitimacy of the wrtier is in question here. Does he not know that we picked Brockman for the Kings and traded for Pendergraph? and I’m pretty sure that was a draft day trade and not pre-thought.
Being a Blazer fan is not exactly healthy.
Who would you rather have BE, Jackson or Farried?

Farried
I’d rather trade for a pg that’s in his prime.

Assume you know that, aside from Andre, the Blazers can't trade for a prime time PG

I would take Farried
He may only be a carrer backup but he would fit the chemistry of this team better. He’ll be able to contribute right away, ala Dante Cunningham or Jeff Pendergraph.
Reggie Jackson seems like he needs time to develop into a true pg.

trade Rudy and cash for #20 and take both

I heard today he had a knee surgery in May, and then decided to cancel his workouts
Would fit the Blazers ;-)

According to Bens's tweets
FWIW Chad Buchanan denies report of promising player. Says team did not promise Elliot Williams last year.
Blazers Acting GM Chad Buchanan says team has narrowed list at No. 21 to three guards and two bigs.
My guess is Faried, Vucevic, Morris and Smith. Can’t figure out 3rd guard. Hoping it’s not McCamey. Cole is either still working out or not at the PF, so i can’t tell if it’s him. Reggie Jackson?

The five may not all be targeted for the 21st slot in the draft.
The Blazers could have narrowed down their first round draft pick to five players, but it could be several different scenarios. Some examples:
1. They stay at #21, and hope Faried is still available. Morris and Vucevic are their backups who should still be there.
2. They have a few scenarios to trade up a few spots to make sure they get Faried.
3. They have a scenario to trade up into the low teens to take Klay Thompson, if he drops that far. (he’s moving up a lot of draft boards)
4. They have a scenario to get up into the top 10 to draft Kemba Walker (like the rumored Sacramento deal).
In any event, they all involve the #21 pick, but not necessarily picked at the #21 spot. Three guards – Walker, Thompson, Morris. Two bigs – Faried, Vucevic. I’m not saying those are the five guys, just giving an example.
It’s not like the Blazers to go into a draft and just sit at their pick and see what drops to them. They usually go in armed with many options to counter the unpredictability of a draft.
The context suggest that they are for the 21st pick
Although, I agree there are plenty of scenarios that could occur.

Dont forget that we like to buy picks
in the range that he is projected (excluding the nbadraft.net which relies on scouting as opposed to teams needs and such) to go. I think we may have a deal with a Miami/Cleveland type to buy that pick should he still be on the board. Just my theory.
He said we gave John Brockman a promise.
Too bad that we had already agreed to swap picks plus Sergio and cash with the Kings so we could draft Pendy at 31.

Not impressed with him. I think you all are fascinted with his
wingspan moe than his actual talents on the court. He isn’t a good scorer nor a good playmaker for a PG. He has potential but he’ll never be a pass-first PG at an All-Star level. I see him as a combo guard but opposite to Bayless. Reggie is more of a do-it-all type of player but not great at any one thing. He’ll struggle to be a solid starter but might be a decent bench player. Can’t shoot to save his life, his numbers are decent but his stroke is real ugly, shots from his hip never a good sign.
50% FG, 42% 3FG, 80% FT
Those numbers suggest he can shoot. Yes, I like his wingspan, too.
You can’t expect to get a pass-first point guard at the all-star level with the 21st pick.
