LeBron James

While watching the finals and seeing that LeBron wasn't playing his best I started to wonder if the Heat would trade him this off season. To me it looked like LeBron didn't even want to win that series while it looked like Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were doing everything they could. I'm not about to suggest that the Blazers are going to somehow make a deal with the Heat for LeBron. That would pretty much be impossible. But I have another trade idea that I would do in a heartbeat if I were the Heat GM.

It seems that Dwight Howard will be traded this off season. Most people think that he'll end up with the Lakers. But I think Miami should send LeBron to Orlando in exchange for Dwight Howard. This would give them a more balanced lineup and I think Howard would work well alongside Chris Bosh in the front court. I'd like to see this trade happen for one because I'm a Blazers fan and if the Lakers got Dwight then that would insure that the Lakers would remain a power in the west for the next decade. Second of all, I hate LeBron James. I've always hated him ever since he first came into the league. I hope he never wins a title. If I were to wish that LeBron would never win a championship and the only way that would be granted is if the Blazers either never made the playoffs or got eliminated in the first round for the rest of LeBron's career... I'd agree to that. I hate him that much.

dwayne wade would get traded first

I think pound for pound DW is the best player in the league. However, out of the big 3, Wade is the oldest. He also has the most history with injury. I doubt the heat will over react and do anything crazy but if they dont win next year either then they might have to consider doing something. Wade will turn 31 in 2012 season and has taken a beating over the years. He will be the first to go. Just look at what melo yielded.

Say what u will about Bosh, but when you to start to name players that are 6’11 and more talented than CB4 the list isn’t too long. Plus, why would any team with a better big man wanna trade down. No way Orlando trades within their conference either.

LBJ isn’t going anywhere. Even though he is the 2nd best player on that team, he younger and soooooo dynamic. He will be in So. Beach for a long time

Why in the world would Orlando do that

With Wade, Bosh and Howard in Miami, Orlando wouldn’t make it out the east for at least the next 4 seasons. LBJ or not. The goal is to win it all not come in 2nd

by King Mar on Jun 18, 2011 8:24 AM PDT up reply actions

No Way!

I can’t believe that no one has yet to figure out that Wade is the best player on that team. It’s not even close. Wade has won a title, MVP of that seiries, and the leading scorer on the gold medal team (coming off the bench) Wade is unstoppable and before Lebron got there and rubbed his jack assery all over Wade, he was actaully a decent guy. Wade is the closer and if you put guy guys like Gasol, Artest, and Bynum around Wade it would be Wade with multiple titles. It wouldn’t matter who you put around Lebron he can’t bring it home regardless of talent.

Why have you hated Lebron since he came into the league??

The media named him King James, called him the best ever, put him on a pedestal, etc etc.
Is that his fault? Well I guess it could be for being an absolute phenom.
I smell jealousy.

You smell jealousy?

I don’t hate LeBron because I’m jealous of him. I suppose the only things he possesses that I’d be jealous of is his basketball talent, athletic ability, and the money he has and is going to make. But if I hated him because of that I’d hate every player in the NBA. It’s not jealousy at all. I just don’t like his attitude.

AND you would sacrifice my beloved Blazers chance at another title? WOW!!!!

I’d say you’re more of a Lebron hater than a Blazer supporter.
What do you benefit from that Aaron?

I may be more of a LeBron hater than a Blazer supporter. But I love the Blazers. I guess I may hate LeBron more than I love the Blazers.

Something about Lebron is really off.

This happens every season. I see him in the regular season. I see him make insane plays. I see him play like he’s unconscious. I’ve heard people call him the next MJ. Believe it or not, he looked the part in the games I’ve seen him play in the regular season.

But come playoffs and he seems out of it for some reason. I noticed this when he was playing Cleveland. He doesn’t play well at all. He seems disengaged from the game. That aura of unstoppability just flat out disappear. I remember seeing it in a game against the Boston Celtics in 2008. I saw that in him in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2009. I saw replays of Game 5 of the 2010 playoffs against Boston. He looked like he was checked out. It was written all over him. In these Finals, I saw the same body language in him. He bricked shot after shot.

I’m starting to see a pattern stretching back to 2008-2009 season. Needless to say, the Cavs were phenomenal in the regular season. They cruised through the first two rounds. They swept the Pistons and the Hawks in blowout fashion. Then came the Conference Finals. The Magic were the Cavs’ first real competition in those playoffs. The Magic took Game 1. Lebron won Game 2 on a buzzer-beater. The rest was history and the Magic beat the Cavs. In that series too, I saw that look on Lebron, a look of disengagement. It looked like he was halfheartedly chucking up shots.

Fast-forward a few months to the 2009-2010 season. To handle Dwight, the Cavs signed Shaq. Again, they waltzed through the regular season. In the first round, the Cavs faced the Bulls. The Cavs effectively cruised through that one. Then came the Boston Celtics. This is the series where the infamous “Game 5” took place, where Lebron allegedly quit. I don’t know if it’s true, but there was something off about Lebron’s body language.

Fast-forward past the whole 2010-2011 season to the 2011 playoffs. The Heat creamed Philly. They faced a small challenge in Boston but a couple of games in and it was clear that the Heat would win that one. Then come the Conference Finals. They face a little more of a challenge in Chicago but they handle that one just fine. But then came the Mavs. The Mavs were again, the first REAL competition for the Heat. What does Lebron do? He again posts a pedestrian performance. I saw that body language on him again.

The pattern I’m seeing is that Lebron doesn’t perform well under adversity. If the opponent has any major weaknesses that lesser teams wouldn’t have caught, you can count on Lebron to find them. The Heat will exploit them to full advantage. But when the real competition arrives, Lebron just disappears. It’s happened three seasons in a row in some form or another.

With that said, if I were the Heat GM, I’m not exactly going to root against Lebron since he plays for my team. But I sure wouldn’t mind Dwight.

Lebron achilles heel is jump shooting

If his drives are taken away and he’s forced to shoot jumpers his game wilts; but when Lebron gets drives and dunks and then decides to mix in the jumpers he is deadly. Lebron’s will is not up to the same level as the Maverick’s. Dirk had a horrible start to game 6 yet he just kept doing what he wanted to do instead of settling for what the defense allows. That comes with age/experience. Next year Lebron will be far hungrier. Miami will also have another year to add a decent piece on that team.

As a long time defender of LeBron’s on the court brilliance, I’m trying to figure out what the heck happened in those last three games, but your attempt to paint the picture of a consistent pattern falls flat in my opinion. To call the Mavs the first real competition the Heat faced is ridiculous— in the Bulls they faced the team with the league’s best record and the league’s best defense, and LeBron was fantastic. Furthermore, you fail to acknowledge the incredible feat of LeBron dragging a poor Cleveland supporting cast past the Pistons and into the finals against the Spurs, where they fell to a far superior team. Finally, last season against the Celtics, Lebron did have one terrible game, but was otherwise brilliant in defeat.

I am not sure what happened to LeBron against the Mavs, but even I have to admit LeBron’s on court legacy deserves to take a major hit for it. However, in your post I think you cherry pick and misrepresent the past.

long live the jd.

Berea, Terry broke their spirit, daggers, blunders, free throws =the end

I caught a couple of Miami facial expressions when Berea got the ball,
like it was futile, or somehow beneath them to chase the ‘little guy’ around.
And sequences of Miami ‘red hot potato’ passing, to avoid working hard enough to break the zone. Cardinal, and Mahinmi? How dare they come on the court with the great ones
from south beach, but each offered a timely dagger to answer the disrespect. Then faux point guard D-Wade losing the ball against matador defense, AGAIN

But like the Blazers VS Bulls finals, their free throw shooting was suicidal,
keeping the point spread larger than their heart.

If I were Orlando..or any team I would not trade for Lebron.

He will give you great stats, but he’s not a winner. He lacks what true greats have and that is a killer instinct and a motor that goes 110% on from start to finish. Plus he’s a guy that has to play with the ball in this hands all the time..it slows down the offense and it’s awkward.

they should trade him to Cleveland… that’d show him

LeBron for Howard trade

LeBron for Howard works well for Miami but Bosh for Howard works much better and is probably a workable deal.
