Plaschke: Should Nate McMillan Still Be A Lakers Coaching Candidate?

102
Bill Plaschke of the Los Angeles Times writes that Portland Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan, who signed a two-year contract extension in March, deserves to be mentioned on a list of "candidates in the shadows" to replace Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson, who is retiring... -------------- Nate McMillan -- Upon hearing that the Lakers might make McMillan their top choice this spring, the Portland Trail Blazers immediately gave their basketball boss a new two-year deal. I find it impossible to believe that if Buss still wanted him, he couldn't figure out a way to get him. The day the Lakers are unable to steal something from Portland is the day they cease being the Lakers. -------------- Former Blazers coach Maurice Cheeks and former Blazers assistant Monty Williams are also listed. The first two names are Lakers guards Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher, though, so whatever. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
