I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't like this teams chances in the post season the way they are currently constructed.  It makes no difference whether they're healthy or not.  The pieces don't seem to fit.  There is too much sugar and not enough spice.  Plus, Nate is having to find minutes for multiple players at the same position.  With little wiggle room in the budget, and literally no space on the roster, it would appear that a trade is near.  As I look at our roster, I'm forced to have to consider the very real possibility that we may have to choose between GW and Nico Batum.  Two of my personal favorites.

I know many people will find this crazy.  Nic has done nothing but improve since he's been here, and there's no reason to think that will change.  Since Gerald Wallace arrived at the trade deadline he has immediately made an impact and seemingly changed the team's mentality.  Why would we ever trade one of them?  Well, unfortunately, we may be forced to.  Brandon's injury has set us back.  If we want to compete in May, we need a superstar or potential superstar, and  Nic and GW have two of highest trade values on the team. 

We can throw out Armon and Luke for CP3 trades all day long, but I think we all know this team needs to get more dynamic and it's gonna take talent to get talent.  My personal philosophy is that nobody is untouchable, although LMA is pretty close.  I don't see any trade for him that would make sense for both parties.  Wes is too good of a value to trade.  We would get the shaft if we trade Greg.  Brandon can't be traded.  Dre and Camby are great but aging, and our bench is, well, our bench.  I don't think anybody wants those guys.  That only leaves Wallace or Nic to be packaged with Rudy and/or picks.

Personally, I would keep Nic.  Keeping Wallace would only work if we can win now.  If Brandon were healthy, and I felt like we had a legit shot at a title then my answer would be different.  I'd say let's keep the proven Wallace and go for broke.  However, Brandon isn't his old self and I don't think this team could win it all with LMA, Wallace, and whoever we got in a trade.  We've already proven to be a playoff team without Wallace, so either way we are in the post season.  I would keep the younger Batum and continue to build for the future and hopefully a title. What do you guys think?  Are we looking at losing Nic or GW?  If so which would you part with and why?  More importantly is who should the Blazers target?  I'd like to see Steph Curry.  There are other players but I think Steph could be obtainable.  Anyways.  Thoughts?
