Negative notes (about the Blazers v Lakers game)
1º.- The Blazers were coming off a back-to-back. That ain´t gonna happen in playoffs.
2º.- The Blazers were playing without Camby. Addition by sustraction? That ain´t gonna happen in
playoffs either.
3º.- The Lakers left Rudy wide open to find out if Rudy is pretending to be in a slump, as in "if he
miss that then he is faking it". Secret weapon has been unmasked.
4º.- The Blazers couldn´t win just by having more asissts, more steals, more blocks and less
turnovers. They also had to outscore the Lakers to win this game.
5º.- The Blazers centers´ boxscore in this game: 0 points, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 2 fouls, 1 rebound.
6º.- Wallace was taking off and landing during 40 minutes. With no landing gear. I´m starting
to make myself questions about that airline safety.
7º.- Brandon played 30 minutes. All of them on his knees.
8º.- Rudy played.
9º.-Wallace blamed LaMarcus for the outcome. Already pointing fingers.
10º.- We can´t complain about the refs as much as we like to.
11º.- We might have to play Oklahoma in the playoffs.
12º.- We want former Blazers to play well, and that was just not the case with Blake.
13º.- The Blazers could have blown out the Lakers in the fourth quarter, allowing Nate to play his
starters against the Lakers scrubs for three or four minutes. Missed opportunity.
14º.- There´s no record of an alley-ooping team winning a championship. As far as I know, there´s not record of
another alley-ooping team in basketball history either. (Globetroters doesn´t count).
16º.- The Lakers not only did lose this game, but also a litle bit of their hatefulness.
Go ahead (Don´t worry, these are not going to be a series).

the fine smack talkers on BE have less to complain about for a moment and chat becomes idle
ditto Patty

The Blazers won at home, not in LA where they could have seen many actors cry on cue at the final buzzer

Where ’Dre goes, lob-dunks follow
Even if his head coach is risk-averse, otherwise
And never forget these guys
That ABA ball looks jusst a little bit overinflated

I loved the expressions on the spectator's faces
I am pretty sure that is an exact replication of what really happened

Poor Blake,
He must have appreciated the joy in the Rose Garden at some level. We could actually use him.
Jordan's not a bad guy.. he gave us Gerald Wallace.
me too....in the 2nd round
would be epic

23 can’t have 23 a negative number
24 Kobe didn’t turn the ball over in the last minute

#13 made me laugh
25)Laker fans had to stay until the end…if the Blazer win would have only been more of a blow out they would have left earlier. The Laker fan in front of me was the size of Mount Hood.
21.
my only real beef with the entire night. Great game.
The Oden interview during game time. Could this guy ever look less enthused about playing basketball? Seriously ??
Sorry Blazer fans, I bleed red and black , but I am going to have to see it, to believe it. Hearing 6 more months before he resumes basketball activity, after 4 years makes me vomit.
Cho, PLEASE get plan B for the BEEF this summer. It is the most important thing this team is missing !
Go Blazers !!!!

it is what it is
how enthused would you be if you were constantly in rehab but still constantly being asked about when you’d be back out there? I can’t blame Greg for responding that way…I’d probably be pretty tired of rehab+timetable questions too. It does seem to me like he wants very badly to be back out there though…how he watches every play and thinks about how he would be impacting it. Mentally he is involved, not detached, from what’s going on with the Blazers…and I think that’s a good thing.

Brandon has had the issues as well
look at the difference is all I’m saying….
Excuses are like a holes. Everyone has one, dont really want to hear them !

Brandon after 2 more years...is where Greg is now.
How do you think Brandon would answer questions about his knees at that point?
No one has gone through what Greg has gone through
in the history of the NBA it’s pretty much completely unprecedented. It’s a crappy situation…for Greg, for the Blazers, and for the fans. It’s not an excuse, it just is what it is. Brandon has not necessarily handled the media well either, and at least he’s able to play. I’m positive that Greg wants nothing more than to be able to play…to stop rehabbing and stop answering questions about when he’ll be back and how his recovery is going. He doesn’t set his own timetables…the doctors do that, so it’s not Greg’s fault that he won’t be running for 5 months, and I’d rather hear the truth than be anticipating unrealistic timetables. Like I said, it is what it is and that’s all that it is. It sucks, it’s extremely unfortunate, it’s nobody’s fault, and we’re all forging through it together. I’m positive that no one wants Greg on that court more than Greg though.

YES!
Going from the brightest future player in the NBA to not being able to run would drive the most sane person batty.
This would make anyone reading this, in any empathetic way, crumble and lay down and cry if it happened to you.
The fact that he shows up at Blazer games, is presumably not into illicit drugs, and can stand up and talk to the press at all is pretty amazing. Many ‘Jail Blazers’ who had no serious life altering experiences can’t say the same.
Anyone who reads or posts on this blog has no personal experience or perspective on what Oden is going through. Super star turned super disappointment. Unless anyone here is actually Sam Bowie, we have no clue concerning the roller coaster he is on.
Fan support is what he needs if he is going to have a shot at returning. No amount of meditation on the details of his physical recovery is going to change anything.
I hope he gets well and will be a Blazer for a long time.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas says "hi"

Not even close
Big Z was the TWENTIETH pick in the draft. Not number one.
Ilgauskas played 82 games his rookie year. Followed by 5, 24, and 62. So in his first four years, Ilgauskas played in more than twice as many games as Oden has. And he did not EVER have that #1 pick pressure, nor was he EVER expected to have the kind of impact that Oden should have, if he ever can stay healthy.
Ilgauskas is an example of a player that battled major injuries during a three year stretch of his career, then managed to be pretty healthy for the remainder of it. So is Grant Hill. Sam Bowie is another guy in this same boat. But Bowie is the one player I can think of who had the pressures of a high draft pick to deal with along those injuries. Grant Hill had the pressures of being a major Free Agent (or trade, can’t recall which) acquisition that “let his team down”. I don’t think Ilgauskas ever had any idea what it felt like to have a franchise and a city feel like he and his health were the only things keeping his team from succeeding.
