Who you should root for now (poll)
The Blazers are out, so now it is time to root for some one else. I will tell who to root for based on the number of former Blazers that team has. You might say that that is simple, you would be right in saying that.
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
Nothing, cheer for these guys to suck.
James Jones--Was awesome from deep that one season he was here.
Juwan Howard--Was awesome in the locker room that one season he was here.
Cheer for these guys to do well.
Jermaine O'neal--the reason we never trade any young guys.
If they were playing any eastern team but the Heat, you could cheer for them.
Nothing, what a lame series that is going to be.
WESTERN CONFERENCE
los angeles lakers:
steve blake--he is averaging 4 points off 35% shooting this year, and last year he started over Andre Miller.
theo ratliff--he would fit well with our current corp of centers.
Yeah they have two ex-BLazers, but they are the lakers, so cheer for these guys to suck.
Nothing, it is a good thing are playing the lakers.
The team formerly known as the Seattle Super Sonics:
Mo Cheeks--Coach who's most famous moments here was getting insulted by Darius Miles and singing the national anthem.
Zach Randolph: we traded him for Channing Frye. I would still do that trade, but it's nice to see finally get his life in order.
Damon Stoudamire: Mighty Mouse is an assistant over there, and over here he was the starting poing guard of two western conference finals teams.
Mike Conley Jr.: Greg Oden's best friend
Lional Hollins: Their head coach has his number in our rafters.
Yes
In summery, you should be cheering for the Grizzlies to beat the Heat in the Finals

Cool... I had already "adopted" the Grizzlies
No way I could root for the Heat though. I might even root for the Lakers over them if they meet in the finals… although I’d probably just root for the building to implode on both of them. :P
My order of rooting, for no particular reason (from favorite to least favorite):
Memphis
Chicago
Atlanta
Boston (already? dang, this team selection is tough)
Dallas (would normally be 2nd/3rd on this list, but… ya know…)
OKC
LA
Miami
Anyone playing the Lakers
I don’t much care who wins, I just don’t want to see/hear the lakers taking their three-peat. It would be absolutely amazing if the Grizzlies beat the Lakers though. I like Pau simply because when the lakers are doing their best, it’s Pau that’s the best player on the floor. But still, seeing Marc take Pau out of the playoffs would be awesome.
Portland could coast along with their superior talent and stay right with us. Now that Portland woke up, the hammer cometh down.

My list of teams that I would prefer to see win (not nessecarily the same as rooting for):
WEST
Memphis
Dallas
OKC
EAST
Chicago
Atlanta
I cannot cheer for the other 3 teams under any circumstance.

Go Memphis!!!
For me the order is:
Memphis
Atlanta (maybe they’ll win one)
Chicago
Oklahoma City (they would be higher but I’m tired of the whole stupid Oden/Durant thing)
Boston
Miami
LA/Dallas
I’d normally be cheering against the Lakers but the Mavs really annoyed the heck out of me.
Chandler’s hitting people in the head all the time and then walking away with his hands raised for like a full minute (plus his shoving for the boards). J.J. Barea’s Napoleon syndrome and bromance with Kevin McHale. Terry’s smugness and his constant shoving of Blazers, not even for a reason sometimes. Dirk’s flopping and whining. Cuban’s being an all-around jerk and crying about a straw wrapper.
Those things are what pushed my buttons. Maybe I’ll cheer for them because no way will they beat Memphis or OKC.
Add that theyre a big underfog story to the list of former Blazers
Memphis

I didn't see a "none of the above" option.
I would much rather be cheering for Monty and CP3 if not for us.
Now?
I should cheer for a settling of the CBA so we can see some basketball NEXT year. Oh and go memphis?

You are missing out.
I’ve seen a couple of really great games. I’d LOVE to see the Grizzlies beat OKC.

Hoping we get Chicago-OKC in the finals
Two of the best young stars in the game in Rose and Durant, good secondary players in Westbrook and Boozer, Noah and Perkins are both insane on the court – could be a fun series showcasing two teams that have chances to be mainstays in the title picture.
Kevin Durant won me over when he went Rocky IV on Russia this summer.
I'm always cheering for the Celtics in the east
It would be amazing if it came down to Grizz vs Celts
As much as it pains me to cheer for OKC and Memphis,
I’m so sick of the small market vs big market crap that if two small markets can beat the Lakers and Dallas, and have at least one of them move on to the finals, that will do wonders for the NBA and give Stern a heart attack.
The real question is not why Greg Oden went #1, but why Nicolas Batum did not
I'm tempted to suggest
that you modify your poll to include a “Who Gives A [bleep]” category but actually I will pull for the Grizz only because I once lived in Memphis for several years and kinda liked the town and even though I’m no big fan of Zach. Second choice = Mavs only because (1) they beat the Blazers + screw the L*kers, and (2) Nowitzki is unguardable one-on-one and has the prettiest shooting stroke since Geoff Petrie so to me he’s fun to watch on offense.
Other than these two: L*kers, NEVER; Heat, NEVER; Thunder, maybe just because they’re small market and if they win and it pisses off Stern then I’m for it; Bulls, WGAS; Celts, WGAS; Hawks, WGAS.
"Send lawyers, guns and money; the sh*t has hit the fan." - Warren Zevon
Grizz just took down OKC in game 1
They look so good, it’s frightening.
I couldn't even stand to watch the Celtics & Heat today
Watching the heat lead for any period of time makes me sick to my stomach.
I hope they blow the next 4 games
so much hate against the heat
i just dont get it
Fire Nate; hire Rick Adelman
(time and money cures all wounds)
trade for Iggy
I'm definitely rooting for the team from Vancouver to beat the team from Seattle.
Who's that tromping across my bedge?
by Troll Blazer on May 2, 2011 7:49 AM PDT reply actions 2 recs
I'm going to have to say The Mavs.
Then I would not feel so bad about losing to them if they beat everyone else. The Lakers could have Roy, LMA, Miller and my Grandma and I STILL would never root for them. I’ll never root for the Heat, or Boston either.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.
