Best Roy moment
Roy was awesome yesterday. I decided to compare his awesomenss to other examples of aweseomess throughout his career
Lets get started (note: all of these are off the top of my head, but I am also fundementally apposed to put an "other" option in the poll, so if you think of another one....tough.)
VS. the Hawks
Roy leads a furious fourth quarter comeback that saw the Blazers down by 19 at one point. (note the defense played by Roy)
VS. the Rockets
The Blazers were off to a slow start during a season of high expectations, Roy was struggling with his shot, then this happened.
VS the Suns
Roy thought it would be awesome to drop 52 on the Suns; so he did.
VS the Knicks
The Blazers blow a big lead to Nate Robinson and the New York Knicks, only to have Roy save them.
2009, Game 2
Following an embarrassing game 1 loss, the Blazers faced a must win game 2. (note: the Rockets had two of the premier perimeter defenders in Artest and Battier)
2010 Playoffs, game 4
Roy gives the Blazers an emotional lift to make it a series.
VS the Nuggets
Just a few games after returning, Roy forces OT against the Nuggets

all amazing moments
but this is no contest for me.
the stage, the events leading up to the moment, and the resiliency all make yesterday night his best ever.
it was the best blazer game that i have ever watched.
PHILLY!
i figure the only competition might be the 42 against the rockets

yup
that was the closest one.
but last night was the best individual performance by a player in the playoffs since bron dropped 29 straight on the pistons in the ECFs a few years ago.

PHILLY!
How Flip Saunders got another year after that game is beyond me.
LeBron James is great, but geez, 29 in a row? uh double team, triple team! The rest of that Cavs team was awful.
I love B Edge almost as much as I love B Roy and close to my love for B atum
Gotta be yesterday.
I was at the game where Roy buried the 3 pointer at the buzzer to beat Houston, which is a moment I will never forget, but the playoffs are on another level. Here’s to hoping we can have another poll in the future which includes WCF and Finals Roy moments!
...
Another moment btw (from Nuggets this year)

I think that yesterday was definitely the Best Ever for Roy (the big game in the Houston series is a close second)
But I wonder where it stands for all of Blazer history. I would probably give that to Walton in game 6 of the championship closeout game….but maybe 2nd? If Two4Larue is around …remind me if I am missing something obvious

Yeah....that is what I am talking about
I would prolly still give the nod to Roy…only because of coming back from that huge deficit.

It is my favorite Blazer game since the '77' championship. Only another championship can rank above that.
And there were great games in the Drexler NBA Finals years.
But yesterday I was literally in tears as Roy’s greatest game unfolded in the 4th quarter. With 4 or 5 minutes left it was obvious the stage was set to become an unforgettable memory of Blazer history. When he hit the 2 from the corner to bring us within 2 points with 1:30 to go I felt then he was in the Brandon zone and somehow he was going to get it done. From there on it was that final reel of a great sports movie with the Hero rising up to overcome impossible adversity, silence his critics, and win the big one for his fans.
I hope this won’t be Brandon Roy’s finest NBA moment. But if it is, he left me a memory that I will always cherish right up there with that Sunday afternoon, June 5, 1977.
