CDC: Stomach Bug affected 13 NBA teams
The US Centers for Disease Control confirmed what many of us suspected: The NBA had an outbreak of the stomach flu across multiple teams this season. As you might remember, Andre Miller missed all but 5 minutes of one game due to a stomach bug, and the Orlando Magic played with minimal players for a few nights. The CDC has confirmed Dwight Howard as one of the players involved, but I can't find Andre Miller on the list yet. It seems likely though.
From the article:
It's not clear how the outbreak started, but the strain of norovirus was an unusual enough that investigators believe players got it from each other rather than from family members or others, he added.
CDC officials believe that there may have been at least two instances in which an infected team passed it to a healthy team. The CDC recommended that in the future, NBA players sick with the virus should not play or take part in team activities.

Is this at all related to the chicken pox thing potentially?
Because I’d love to blame the lakers.

No
But if Blake infected his team mates it will take 10-20 days for it to start in them just in time for the second round match up with them.
Not likely if they all have had it as kids, but heres hoping

Current rumor is that Artest, Bynum and Bryant did not have Chicken Pox yet
Not sure it’s ever been confirmed.
Worth noting that we also played Blake and the Lakers when he may have been contagious…
Andre Miller will never show up on a CDC list
Why? It is a medical mystery.
Now all we need is the rest of the roster to get into "how can everybody help Nicco and Oden" mode. -- Oden Mad, Oden Smash! Sep 29, 2010 7:47 PM
