Scott Schroeder of RidiculousUpside.com reports... ------------------- Earl Barron has played in 19 NBA games this season while amassing a 6.5 PER by averaging 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 33 percent from the field. Amazingly, that hasn't stopped the Portland Trail Blazers from bringing him in for a workout on Monday morning. Barron, a 7-foot center with 108 games of NBA experience (and 121 games of D-League experience), posted to Twitter on Sunday that he was "headed to Portland for a workout hopefully they sign me for the playoffs. Keep me in your prayers." ------------------- The Blazers have one open roster spot. The Blazers worked out Barron back in November after Fabricio Oberto retired. Update: Jay Allen of 95.5 FM reports from Blazers practice that Robert Swift and Dwayne Jones are also at the practice facility and "will work out for the Blazers today." This will be roughly the 4,598th time Jones has worked out for Portland over the last few years. Update: Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports that Blazers GM Rich Cho "GM Rich Cho does not expect to sign 1 of the 3 players - today - who worked out for the Blazers after practice. He could later in week." -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
