Blazers Crack Top 10 in NBA Power Rankings

8

The Portland Trail Blazers went 2-1 last week, slipping up against the Golden State Warriors but taking care of business against the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers. Another winning week moved Portland into the top 10 of most of the various NBA power ranking models as we enter the final week of the regular season. Marc Stein: Blazers remain at No. 8 John Schuhmann: Blazers drop from No. 7 to No. 8 John Hollinger: Blazers improve from No. 12 to No. 10 David Aldridge: Blazers remain at No. 10 Jeff Sagarin: Blazers remain at No. 11 According to Hollinger's team stats: Portland remained at 11th in offensive efficiency, dropped from 13th to 14th in defensive efficiency, dropped from 16th to 17th in rebound rate and remains the slowest team in the NBA when it comes to pace. As for the playoff projection systems we've been tracking all season, it's a wrap. The eight teams in the Western Conference are set: San Antonio, Los Angeles, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Denver, Portland, New Orleans and Memphis. There is still some chance for movement in the seeding this week. Currently, the Blazers are the West's No. 6 seed and would face the Dallas Mavericks if the playoffs started today. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
