Przy: "I’ll remember this until the day I die."
Casey Holdahl posted some postgame Blazer comments, including Brandon, Nic, LaMarcus and Rudy's thoughts on Joel and Dante's return in different jerseys (Nic: "[Dante] should have got out of the way"). But most interestingly, he also posted a few of Joel's thoughts on the crowd's ovation:
"It was great. I don’t know what to say. I’ve had a couple receptions when I came back from injury, and this one. I’ll remember this until the day I die."

video?
Anyone have a video of the chant? I wish I could have been at the game, but I had work. Joel has been one of my favorite players these past few years and what he has brought to the team has been beyond words. Hope to see him back this summer.
the chant wasn't that loud as it didn't include the entire arena.
the LOUD standing ovation when Joel came onto the floor included the entire arena..including the Blazer bench.
That is what Joel was referring to, I am sure.
OK great
Now come back home and play out your career here. You probably can give us a couple more good years. How about a three year contract, Joel, with a front office job guaranteed afterward?
Practices of the unscrupulous money changers stand indicted in the court of public opinion, rejected by the hearts and minds of men... They know only the rules of a generation of self-seekers. They have no vision, and when there is no vision the people perish.

thats funny about the free throw guy
I really like Joel and wish him the best regardless of if he comes back here or not. It sure would be nice to bring him back home though.

lol! that was the best line.
Was Joel a bit nicer than usual?
“Joel was like a big brother for us, for everybody, so we’ve got respect for us. We’ve got respect for him too. He knows that. Did you see what happened with Free Throw Guy? When Joel tried the free throw, (Free Throw Guy) was like (Batum stands completely still). Joel got a lot of respect from everybody, even Free Throw Guy.”

Come back next year.
It doesn’t have to be over big fella.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.
Maybe Bobcat players....
… won’t cringe when being considered for trade to Portland once they have witnessed something like this. PDX fans are really amazing. I wonder how the quality of the fanbase might weigh in an athlete’s desired destination.

Are there a lot of Bobcats we want to bring over?
Seriously though, I think that the fan support does nothing but help Portland’s rep among players. We may not be a big market and we might be up here in the NW all by ourselves but when you’re a Blazer and you’re a good guy who plays hard, this town will show you lots of love.
Hey Joel,
Blazer Nation will remember YOU until the day we die, as well :)
Treat people well because Karma can hit you at any second.

How can the heart & soul of the Blazers play for someone else?
It was so bizarre to see Joel Przybilla in an opposing team’s jersey. For YEARS, he was like the little Dutch boy with the finger in the dike: holding back the flood of incoming opponents. How many times did Przy put his body on the line, leaping to place his hand between would-be dunkers and the rim? What a warrior—on a team that was otherwise soft for so long.
I’m so glad that Przy received and enjoyed the warm reception from the Rose Garden crowd. In a better world, Przy would have ended his career in Portland. But at least he knows how Blazer fans feel about him.
I still believe in Greg Oden. The Blazers' medical staff? Not so much.
I'd change my handle to "bringback'09," but I'm too lazy.
