Hands up if you think we're going to win the championship this year!
anybody??? anybody???Bueler? Bueler?
By some fluke we just may...It would have to be a miracle finish the likes of which we've seen in that fine display of bizarre endings such as the contest against the Spurs.
Maybe the pope flashing goggles will help us
Instead, we get the next best thing and come out swinging like crazed maniacal boxers on a second wind after being all but knocked out in round 74...but wait, the gloves are off, the fans are going craaaaazy and we handle the L*kers - send them to the locker room in tears and shame and watch L.A. riot and burn Blazers memorabilia for years to come.
The second round of the finals would require something more miraculous, but even if we lost every game thereafter and got blowed out by the Spurs or OKC, just consider that exceptionally rewarding feeling of knowing we took the L*kers out of contention.
This year the L*kers, next year the title.
If you're one of the folks who is greatly opposed to playing the L*kers first round (or in general) with the expectation of us losing, what exactly is your reasoning?
Is it that you believe we can take the title this year and they're the ones who are truly in the way?
Do you just want to stretch the season out so we have more basketball to watch?
Are you hoping our players will get more playoff experience?
