Watching Brandon Roy out there and not being able to do all of the incredible things he used to do, hurts. There has been a couple of games (Denver, Dallas) since he's returned where you watch him play and you say there he is, but most of the time it's like he can only play at 70% of what he used to.
I really hate it when fans put hatred on him, just because he signed a $82M dollar contract for earning it. Everyone used to praise him saying by the end of his career he would have done it all. Now everyone can't stand him because he signed a contract by earning it, when everyone in here would have accepted an $82M dollar contract for doing what they love.
It really isn't Roy's fault that he got hurt, he didn't intentionally go out and tear his meniscus. It was a freak play and his foot got caught under Artest's foot. The Blazers organization are the one's that extended the offer to keep the best player on their team, even if they knew he had bad knee's. So don't even try that "Oh PA and KP are idiots for doing that!".
Roy probably won't ever be the same after that, and it hurts particularly not just because he was our best player, but because he is now the 2nd player of the proposed 'Big 3' the Blazers had in Roy, Oden and Aldridge to get plagued by injuries. He still helped bring this team back to the playoffs, and for that I say Thank You B-Roy.
All we can do now is hope for the best.
