So I saw the last BYU game against Gonzaga in the NCAA tournament and I was impressed with Jimmer Fredette. That kid can really score the basketball. I know that he lacks athleticism and is undersized, but I'm not really sure that it is fair to say that he can't defend. Plus aren't those two things that people said about Wesley Mathews and look where he is now, one of the best sophomore players in the NBA. In addition the blazers play probably the most zone d of any nba team so to some extent he wouldn't need to be the best one on one defender. His lack of defense could be covered by nick of Wesley or any of our other defensive players. What we need now is a person who can put the ball through the net int he 4th quarter without needing and entry pass, sorry Brandon, but I don't trust your knees to support the blazers anymore. Jimmer in my opinion gives you a threat from almost anywhere on the floor and allow us to win some games against the Lakers when all we need is one big three to put the game out of reach.
I think that if We can get JImmer with our 20th pick we should, I don't think a late round 6-9 powerforward is really going to help us anytime soon, seeing how we don't need another undersized bigman. However we could use a kid who can shoot the 3-pt ball from 30 ft of the dribble.
Thats just how I feel, I think the blazers should pick the highest talent possible and I think that at the 20 spot Jimmer if Available is probably the most talented. What do you think?
