Rich Cho in Idaho

Cho is a curious cat...

Rich Cho was checking in on Luke Babbitt, a game after Luke posts a 30 point performance. The announcer for the game interviewed Cho for a few minutes. Cho had some very interesting things to say about his new acquisition in, Chris Johnson. He likes the attitude and morals of the newly acquired center. Saying that he fits the DNA of this team, and likes his skill-set too. Rich Cho goes on to talk about his deep interest in the D-League. Seems to believe in it's developing process. They used it in OKC to what became commonplace. He also tells us that instruction is sent to the coaches on what management would like to see developed in the players sent unto them. Babbitt did not put up numbers that where similar to his previous game, but they won and that counts in my book as success!

What I take away from this brief interview was this:

Rich Cho is a guy that likes to utilize the tools that are at his disposal. Going into the D-League to basically have a continual drafting and/or player development alternative to instead, signing a player that may require more money, while also, tying up a roster position is very crafty. Trimming the fat on payroll has to make Mr. Allen a happy cat!

If Johnson turns out to be a legit rotation player, it will cap another sauvy move for Cho. I wonder if he was there also to see about bringing up another player after Collins 2nd 10 day contract runs it's course? I am in favor of a legit back-up PF. Antoine Walker or Jermarion Davidson come to mind. In my opinion, either of these players would be an upgrade over Collins for the 15 spot. Cho could also decide to leave that spot open for the remainder of the season, thus cutting even more fat!

Two thumbs up Mr. Cho...
