Exactly what I said when I saw this....
This guy needs to do his home work! Duhon cnt guard no one! Patty is a very serviceable back up.

Backup pg to buffer Andre's free agency?
I’m guessing he doesn’t know that we have a team option. Also Orton looks good on paper, but if he can’t get the back-up spot, then why would we trade our current starter for him?
Portland could coast along with their superior talent and stay right with us. Now that Portland woke up, the hammer cometh down.
Bayless > Daffy Duck after 3 cans of rockstar
SI should just go back to their glory days of the 80s
recapping games that happened last month.
dinasour type of guys choir boys
Pretty smart trade idea for Dallas though.
Piston may not need the big man depth, as Monroe is coming along alittle but they don’t lose out much giving up McGrady plus getting pick would be ideal for them.
Being a Blazer fan is not exactly healthy.
Orton and Clark for Pryz
Not a bad trade if we have to rebuild especially if they throw in a late pick.
I’m not usre if the team has to rebuild just yet
Mm, I actually like parts of it.
Orton’s a pretty intriguing prospect. Project center, with a great physique for playing NBA center, but very raw. His upside is probably not much higher than Joel’s but Joel’s breaking down and not far from retirement; we can’t expect the world for him. Not too high on Clark, but he’s still a young player who has some potential.
The biggest problem with this plan is the crappy contract for Duhon. We don’t want 3.5 over 4 polluting our cap. If we could find someone we could dump Duhon on for an expiring, I’d be all over it, but I highly doubt there’s a market for him.

Portland’s got a couple of assistant coaches (Bayno and Buck) who could coach up young big men like Seraphin or Orton.
Unfortunately, KP and the scouts drafted Babbitt and Williams, instead. (Then the veteran centers and Pendy couldn’t stay healthy…burrrn)
Hindsight is 20/20, but Portland has strengths and weaknesses re: developing young players (PG = not so much, PFs and centers = better track record) so it only makes sense to draft towards your developmental strengths and deal away the extra assets to acquire veterans who will shore up the positions of developmental weakness
Of course, hiring an assistant coach who can develop a young PG would be too much to ask for…the head coach has already marked that territory
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
