Quick: Andre Miller Defends LaMarcus Aldridge, Digs At Blake Griffin

319
Jason Quick of The Oregonian with some great quotes in this piece after it was announced that Portland Trail Blazers power forward LaMarcus Aldridge would not be an NBA All-Star. Andre Miller went off a little bit... ------------------ "It’s all publicity and hype,’’ Miller said. "The league don’t appreciate the blue collar workers. They don’t appreciate that. They make their money off the high-flyers ... That’s a slap in the face to LA.’’ .. "LA was supposed to make it. He was supposed to make it,’’ Miller continued. "We have a better record than those guys (the 19-29 Clippers), and LA is putting up just as good numbers. Now, you are not going to see a lot of highlights -- Blake Griffin highlights and stuff like that -- but they are giving these young guys too much respect. Too much respect to the young guys. It’s good for him personally; I’m not no hater. But I am biased toward my teammate. No. 1, we have better record, and No. 2, (Aldridge) is just as good and he has paid his dues.’’ ------------------ Click through above for Aldridge's reaction. Update: Don't tell Andre Miller, but the New Orleans Hornets just sent out the following release (emphasis mine): "The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they will make their first ESPN appearance of the season when they host Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers in the New Orleans Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 23 (the L.A. Lakers at Portland game will no longer be televised)." -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
