A member of the Portland Trail Blazers not named Wesley Matthews is headed to Los Angeles for All-Star Weekend.
That's right... big man Chris Johnson has been selected for the 2011 D-League All-Star Game. As a former member of the Dakota Wizards, he will represent the East.
Pro Basketball Talk has the full rosters.
Johnson is in the 10th day of his first 10-day contract with the Blazers. Thursday morning, a Blazers spokesperson said "no determination has been made" officially regarding a second 10-day for Johnson as of yet, however sources say it does appear likely that he will receive a second 10-day given Marcus Camby's continued absence following knee surgery. An official announcement may not come until tomorrow.
Jason Quick of The Oregonian tweeted last night, "Blazers coach Nate McMillan pregame surprisingly says Camby is 'weeks' away from returning from left knee surgery. Hmmm. I heard much earlier."
Johnson made his NBA debut against the San Antonio Spurs earlier this week and was pretty geeked up about it.
