Hey all, just looking at the numbers and I'm curious whether it would work to go after Howard and Paul together when they're free agents next summer. I don't know what kind of guys Howard and Paul are like, but if they want to win championships...Portland would actually make sense. New Jersey would have made sense but now that they got D-Will, it'd be hard to make it work for Howard and Paul to play together (which I heard they want to do). I know PDX's not a big market team but like I said, if they'd want to win...it could work. We'd have our big three (Howard/Aldridge/Paul) with a much better bench than Miami/Knicks/Celtics/Lakers. Portland best pieces are our PF, SF and G. What we're lacking for a championship team is C and PG. If Camby's, Andre's and Greg's contracts expired and we managed to trade Brandon (and I bet we could get a couple of picks from a team looking for a playoff run next year...) We'd have enough $ to offer $15 million or so to each plus have some extra to re-sign Batum and maybe re-sign Camby at a smaller amount (with his age, I think that's realistic). Could they resist this roster...?
Howard
Aldridge
Wallace
Matthews
Paul
Camby subbing in for 4/5 which allows Dwight and LMA to get more touches
Batum and Rudy subbing at 2/3
That'd be amazing.
