NO
Besides they aren’t winning the title this year anyway so by default they avoid the only other definition of "waste" that matters.

If someone said NO to that deal, they have no idea what they are talking about.
I’m pretty sure any reasonable Blazer fan understands that trading Andre for Harris would be a coup for the Blazers. As you said, he has been stuck in one of the worst situations in basketball for a few years now, and it’s obviously took it’s toll. I think a move to Portland would be great for both Devin Harris and the Blazers. I really hope this deal gets done. The simpler, the better.
Portland Trades: Andre Miller and a 1st round pick.
NJ Trades: Devin Harris.
You forgot The Nets and Blazers are also linked to Sam Bowie

AKA Buck Williams.
Let’s focus on the positives here!
No to the Oden part
But you’re right. Can anyone else imagine the defense in a Harris/Matthews/Batum/LMA/Camby or Oden line up?

You are a Nets season ticket holder?
My sympathies ;p
Seriously, though, I’d like to see what Harris could do in a winning environment. My only concern is that the loss of Miller might diminish the chances of Portland BEING a winning environment.
You guys really are great fans
I only put Oden in there b/c he is rumored as an expiring contract. I hate what has happened to that man these past 3-4 years. My opinion on Greg is you guys should hold onto him unless some MEM-type franchise offers him a maz deal or something crazy. He will put a solid playoff changing Spring together eventually.
And to the fella who mentioned Bowie, i counter with Travis Outlaw, hahaha

Yeah man...
Sorry about Trav.
Nate and Monty (Williams) did their level-best with that guy. We all love him ’cause of his down-home, positive locker room, aw-shucks thing. Also cause he was almost the only likable rotation player during the Bonzi/Randolph/Miles era. But it was a cardiac roller-coaster with him on the court. One day he wins you the game on a buzzer-beater; next game he shoots 1 of 9 and plays some absolutely horrendous D (both individual and team).

Rudy is the new Travis ftw!...Does New Jersey want him for Morrow?

Naw, they'd rather sign him to a more expensive long-term deal when he's an FA
Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
I'd do the it....
But….no oden in the deal, either a 1st round pick in return or morrow if Rudy is included…. We need a shooter back

Harris is nice. He's not a knock down shooter though.
I’d go Andre and Rudy for him. We have to get B Roy minutes somewhere. No Oden though. Even broken he still has sickening upside.
wha??

I can see Miller for Harris, straight up...
But ain’t no way we deal Oden in this deal.
And I really don’t want to deal Rudy, either (but that is one place he’d thrive, with his Russian owner valuing int’l players.).
I can see dealing Pryz, but what do we want with Murphy?
Agreed
NJ is almost committed to trading Harris at this point, and it doesn’t sound like they are getting a lot of reasonable offers – Dallas could be just a smoke screen to drive up the price. I think NJ would do Harris for Miller straight up just to get into a better contract situation. Be patient Cho …… no Rudy, maybe a draft pick to get the deal done.
Agreed on Mavs
They got Beaubois, what do they need another scoring pg for? I know Beaubois isn’t ready to take over for Kidd, but Kidd still seems to be doing well, and JJ Barea has played outstanding lately. If Mavs are only offering Butler, then no reason to overpay, or at least pay more than needed.
Portland could coast along with their superior talent and stay right with us. Now that Portland woke up, the hammer cometh down.

I’m tellin you guys, I agree with this 1000%. Harris would absolutely own in Portland, especially now that Roy isn’t the #1 option.

I'd love Harris
I don’t want to give up Rudy AND Miller though.. just Miller and Przy or something

Nah I don't buy this BS
You are just hoping that the Blazers give up Miller to you because you know Miller is way better than Harris.
I, for one, am not gonna fall for your little attempt at a big fake-out. You’re not gonna fake me out young man. I won’t fall for it.
Miller is way better than Harris right now and Miller’s likely retirement date is not that much sooner than Harris’s likely retirement date (if at all sooner). I wouldn’t be surprised if Miller is still playing when Harris retires.
The Blazers are playing fantastic b’ball lately and that is because the team is finally clicking on Miller’s inspired play. You want to see our team crippled. That can be your only motive for advocating that we trade Miller for your junky old Harris. Because that is surely what will happen to the Blazers if they trade Miller: They will be CRIPPLED.
Fanz, this dude is an imposter and he is promoting our doom.
Both teams played hard and ball don't lie. Rasheed is the Yogi Berra of hoops. We should start calling him Yogi Sheed.
I am far from an imposter...
I am a diehard NBA fan since i was old enough to make a shot on a 10-ft hoop (mid-1980’s). If Harris is so bad, let’s see what happens next Jazz-Blazers game because he will be running the point in Mormonville for the next 3 years. We’ll see how Miller fares in those showdowns. Oh, and youre welcome for taking Deron out of the division.
Good luck BlazersEdge, i bid you adieu
