When the coaches of the league are voting for reserve positions, it is said that they will consider team records when making selections. The biggest debate on ESPN is who deserves to go. Tim Duncan has fallen out of the conversation of late, as his age becomes more apparent and his numbers slip too low for reasonable consideration. After watching Aldridge's games vs Love and Blake, along with his dominant performance last night against the Spurs, I have to believe that he is equally as deserving as Love or Blake to be on the team.
While Love and Blake have had great seasons so far this year, and both deserve spots on the team, I believe that Aldridge's Performances against their teams makes him equally as deserving as them. His team's record gives him the nudge. The BLazers are 6-0 vs the clippers and 'Wolves this year, which alone of course wouldn't be enough to give him the edge. His last game vs the Clippers he scored 28 points with 8 rebounds 3 assists and 1 block. His Last game against the "Wolves he scored 37 points with 12 rebounds 2 steals and 2 blocks. That gives him the edge.
Given, Love and Blake had good games as well, but only equally so. Feb. 16th would be a good game to watch, when Aldridge and Love get to play each other for the last time before the break. If Aldridge goes in to the break 7-0 vs Love and Blake, I would have to give the spot to Aldridge.
