Blazer Chatter: Biggest Moment of the Year?
Here's your Blazer Chatter thread for all Blazer topics not covered elsewhere on the site. While the specifics of last night's victory over San Antonio are discussed below, I have a more general question to start the conversation today. Was that win the biggest (good) moment of this season? If so, do you anticipate a bigger one coming? If so, what will that be? If this wasn't the biggest moment of 2010-11 so far, what was?
Discuss this or any other Blazers-related topic below.

Yeah, that was the biggest win of the year
I’m afraid it’s downhill from there. Letdown tonight will let the air out of the bubble. Tough schedule the rest of the way as the shortage of healthy big men catches up to the Blazers.
Have to admit
I’m expecting a letdown tonight too. We may even drop the Pacers game…just please don’t let us lose to Cleveland!
I saw that we were the game where
they could set the record for losses in a row, and had that exact thought!
So maybe the Cavs will be motivated to lose?
Gotta accomplish something during the season… lol
The win over Houston where K-Mart had 45 points was pretty big too.
Porter, Drexler, Kersey, Williams, Duckworth. The greatest starting 5 ever.
Great win! Entertaining game. Fun to watch LMA continue to battle through
a tough season with physical play & determination.

YES to biggest (good) moment of the season.
i do not anticipate a bigger win than this for the rest of the season. But there’s plenty of basketball. More good wins to come. Perhaps just not as sweet as this.

Most unexpected big moment for sure
There is a possibility that a trade will be one of the biggest moments of the year. Barring that, maybe LA making some big plays in LA on the All Star stage. I do not anticipate a playoff series win so I am watching LA’s emergence and Looking to see which other guys will develop consistency: Batum, Patty, Wesley, Rudy all seem to have growth potential but need to do it every night.

Lets shoot for #8
And then SPANK these guys in the playoffs!
To me, last night's win wil remain the most satisfying point of the year
A very impressive performance by LMA, and a scrappy and dogged showing by the rest of the team, combined to a victory over one of the best that the NBA has to offer. All of this left the RG faithful feeling good about our team. I can’t see how it will get any better than this.
Win the day!
Finals MVP Lamarcus Aldridge hoists the Larry O'Brien
with teammates Dejuan Blair, Kirk Hinrich & Kevin Durant (swung to portland in a 4-team trade deadline Cho-slap) at his side.
biggest win yet, but...
our first round series victory over the l*kers is gonna be very memorable. that will in turn be overshadowed by our 2nd round advancement, our conference championship, and of course, our surprising finals victory over leheat. can’t wait!
My biggest hope for upcoming event
Would be to see Camby, LMA, Nico, BRoy and Dre on the court together and healthy. It could happen. Now, I didn’t say 100% healthy, I meant as healthy as Camby, Dre, and BRoy can be. Matthews playing in place of Batum would also be OK.

Almost unargueably...
Almost unargueably one of the biggest wins of the season. But I don’t like to evaluate a season until it’s over.
With shots of Brandon in street clothes, and Aldridges monster performance, it almost had a transitional, symbolic, feel. If there was a “face of the franchise” torch, Aldridge lit it, lifted it, and ran around the Rose Garden with it.

Yes, definitely one of the season's high points
great win last night. The kind of game that makes you forget all the rumors and chatter and just enjoy watching the Blazers play. I love that with Dante’s ability to guard Richard Jefferson our small lineup was still considerably bigger than theirs. When we play like that it makes you wonder if it isn’t worth making a push with this group of guys. If healthy, we wouldn’t be an easy out in the playoffs. Then again, I guess being mediocre means you play great some of the time and not so great other times. Last night we definitely played great…tremendous energy and effort in the second half. Way to go LMA, way to go Blazers!

This is a big moment
but it may not be the biggest. After we lost to Boston everyone was talking trades. Now Rudy wants to stay in Portland and we beat the best. So now if Cho makes a big move as promised and Miller, Fernandez, Przy etc get traded like we all wanted then that will be the big moment and a FTW spelled backwards to go with it.
I posed a question yesterday that was kind of snarky towards ticket buyers
Something along the lines of ’why should Paul Allen upgrade the team if people keep filling the arena for a non-contending team?"
Well last night showed exactly why. 1.) Because LMA is suddenly a top tier, franchise-leading beast and he’s fun as hell to watch when he plays like this and 2.) because the ceiling on this team might be higher than I and others originally thought.
I’m still puzzled about Batum, but I’ve never been happier that I can no longer make fun of LMA. I always knew he had the tools, a 7 footer with long arms who can run the floor and shoot from 20 feet – are you kidding me?? but I had just about given up on the mind. Fantastic to see that he’s finally turned the corner, and this time I truly believe he has. Even his mid-range jumper lacks the OMG CONTACT SCARES ME fall-away action it once had.
Yeah maybe I’m reading a lot into one game. But that was the NBA’s best team record-wise on game 1 of a long road trip. Not game 5 or 8 or 12. The Spurs can’t have any excuses. That was a high quality win. I was disappointed with the efforts vs. Sacto and to a lesser extent Boston, so this was very nice to see. Better still to see LMA dominate.
If Oden comes back next year and actually puts in a full season, and Brandon can be 75% of what he once was…this roster could be something again. I still think getting rid of Miller, Prz, and Camby is wise. Any of of the three you can move, I think you do it with Miller as the hardest to part with. And nothing against any of those guys, I just think any potential window has moved out 2 or 3 years from what it was originally.
The Leeroy Rule: being insistent >>>> being correct
I think the biggest moment of the season will come tomorrow
when Lamarcus edges out Kevin Love to get a spot on the All Star team.
He's a hater. :)
Camby is the only one that looks for Batum underneath. Everyone else thinks he has a rash or something." - Mike Rice
It was the biggest moment of the year for me, but that’s just because I picked an EXCELLENT time to make it to my first game of the year. :) As I exited the Rose Garden, several fans started a “Let’s Go Blazers!” chant that lasted several minutes.
More than just from a fan perspective, this win has to mean a TON for the team. It shows them that even though they’re arguably as depleted as they have been all season, they can still go out and stick it to the best team in the league (record-wise). Unlike some, I don’t expect a huge letdown tonight. I think the win energized this team.
"Hey! If the moon were made of ribs, wouldja eat it? I know I would!"
A bigger moment will be when we bounce the Spurs in the first round of the playoffs.
Wishful thinking?

Biggest moment?
How about when we all learned the extent of the health of Roy’s knees? Or when Greg Oden went down…again perhaps signaling an end to an era.
Last night was just a game in the middle of the season, it doesn’t mean anything at all.
As far as good moments go..
Was the team recognizing Andre Miller’s streak.
Biggest win was the night in, Utah.
