ESPN reporting Carmello Anthony to be traded to New Jersey Nets
The trade will move Carmello Anthony, Chauncey Billups and to New Jersey for Derrick Favors, Devin Harris 4 1st round picks and other players. How does this affect PdX and also will LMA play in the All Star game with this development? I feel that 4 1st rounders are far too much plus favors for Anthony. If I were Denver I would have lept at this trade!

Nice find
Looks like Melo still has to agree?
Found it
Sources say the Nuggets, furthermore, remain well aware that New Jersey will not consent to an Anthony trade, no matter what is agreed upon between the teams, unless Anthony agrees to sign a three-year, $65 million contract extension with the Nets as part of the swap.
The Bergen Record, citing sources, reported on its website Friday that the Nets and Nuggets have reached a “tentative agreement” on an Anthony deal, but reiterated that any deal remains contingent on Anthony signing the extension.
If Anthony ultimately says yes, the Record reported that the Nets will get Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Melvin Ely and Renaldo Balkman from the Nuggets.
In turn, the Nets would send Favors, Devin Harris, Troy Murphy, Ben Uzoh and four first-round picks to Denver.

This is only a rumor
Melo still has to agree to it
Actually confirmed...but Anthony still has to agree
He very well might at this point. 3 years isn’t too bad and he could still flee to the Knicks afterwards.
If it happens, like tomorrow
does Carmelo play for the East in the All-Star game?
I dispense B.S. and facts. It is up to you to figure out which is which.
What happened when Shaq was traded from Phx to Cle
I can’t recall but I’m pretty sure he played for the West anyway.
For it to be official
The league office would have to OK the deal. And they will not be open for business this weekend.
Melo plays for the West still.

The title of your post is misleading
As of 10:55 Pacific time there is no trade. In fact, there is no trade.
It in fact sounds like there won't be one
because Carmelo is unlikely to sign an extension with the Nets.
I dispense B.S. and facts. It is up to you to figure out which is which.
No intention to overstate the trade
Oregonslee – If you turn on Sportscenter right now the story is all over it and has been for a half hour. This is why i stated ESPN is reporting it.
GMan – This is totally up in the air. If Carmello turns it down it looks like he would be shorting himself 7 million per year according to most cap experts.
OCBlazerFan – I agree to an extent but 4 NJ draft picks plus the #3 player selected in last years draft andn a younger version fo your own PG is pretty good for a player that was going to walk anyway. I’d trade BRoy, GO, and Andre for the same trade honestly.
4 first rounders and Favors is a small price to pay
for a Super Star that is ready to contribute the second he puts on your teams jersey. Sure, you might get lucky in the draft, but a bird in the hand is worth four draft picks in the bush.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.
the 4 first rounders
New Jersey’s 2011. this should be a good pick in a weak draft
Lakers 2011. Late first. meh
Golden State’s 2012, top 7 protected for 3 years, than turns into 2nd rounders
Houston’s 2012, top 14 protected for 4 years, then turns into a 2nd rounder.
One of these (probably Lakers or Houston) will be redirected with Troy Murphy to whatever team takes him on.
so, it’s not as fantastic as it sounds on the 1st round pick front
"I want to be traded to a contender" is almost always code-speak for "I'm a loser."

and this is your second post in a row misspelling his name. It’s CARMELO ANTHONY. One L.

Yeah, aren't they just super gooey caramel and chocolate?
A little nougat would be a nice touch, actually.
Dave, you missed your calling as a chocolatier.
Stealth > Wealth
These trade scenarios are just like Carmello bar...
Stretch it out-out-out, Car-melo
Stealth > Wealth
Interesting.....
Not sure how I feel about that trade. Near future it’s good for the Blazers. Denver would be done for the season. Long term, 4 first round picks seems like a lot. Denver would be well on their way to rebuilding post-Melo.
Either way I think it’s a good move by Denver. If Melo agrees they have a good amount in return. Until Melo decides, they have a good bargaining chip to use with NY to try and up their offer.
Personally, I hope he takes it. Seeing top tier talent shift to the Eastern Conference is always good (unless it’s a Blazer).
Meh. I doubt he does it.
He’s come this far. May as well hold out for the Knicks now or at the end of the season.
wha??

"Please welcome YOUR BROOKLYN MELOOOOOOOHs!!!"
That’s what they’d have to call the team if this trade happened as reported, especially since he’d be pretty much the only player there making great money. Surely my Nuggets FO guys, bless their stress-induced-tachycardia fluttering hearts, are just trumpeting this trade in order to get the Knicks or some other team to sweeten the pot.
Our crusading sports journalists are all too happy to parrot whatever their “sources” tell them, since that’s how readers and viewers are delivered to advertisers, eh? The more sensational the better. No matter that those erstwhile reporters are being played like a drum by the leakers.
I could be wrong; maybe this huge trade will go down just like they’re outlining it. We’ll see by next week.
Carmelo has 2,015,394 reasons to want a trade
That’s how much money he’d have to sacrifice over the next 4 years if he has to exercise his ETO this summer.
More than that.
What kind of negotiations can a player engage in with a franchise when he has to walk into Knicks office and say;
“Ok. You’re the only team I want to play for, and I want you to sign Chris Paul next year. Now give me the absolute max contract.”
Dolan would just sit there all quiet and start peeling an orange.
dinasour type of guys choir boys
Warkentien is with Knicks now, what a coincidence
director of player personnel, NYK must be thinking he can swing it with his previous Denver experience with Billups and Melo…let’s see if he stays there if the deal does not happen…then maybe he works the PTB…
Does this make the Nets better than the Nuggets?
Is Billups/Melo/Lopez better than Billups/Melo/Nene? Probably.
Furthermore, is Billups/Melo/Lopez better than Harris/Nene/Umm, JR Smith I guess. I think it is by a lot.
The really important thing is, the Nuggets will suck hard once this is done, and the Blazers may have locked up a playoff spot by default.
These are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others. -Groucho Marx

The latest in the Melo-drama (Sat afternoon)
Carmelo Anthony is informing those close to him that he will not sign a contract extension if he is traded to the Nets, according to a person aware of Anthony’s preference.
