My idea to expand the rumored Melo deal
Wow, I never do this, but couldn't help myself:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4c6zb9s
We start with the rumored 9-player deal. Now we also have heard the following, either during this cycle or earlier in the season during the last Melo to Nets go around:
1) Denver doesn't want to keep Harris
2) Denver covets Batum
3) Denver doesn't want to keep Murphy for tax reasons
4) Denver would look to move Nene if they are blowing it up
5) Cleveland is willing to absorb your expiring deal for a pick or two
So here's where we come in. We start with the 5 for 4 swap being talked about today. Then:
Denver sends out Murphy, Nene, Harris and one of those 4 first rounders, and gets back Miller, Przybilla, and Batum This saves them $15 million off the cap number this year, and Joel and Andre both come off the books next year (or they keep Miller another year if they want)
Cleveland takes on Murphy and gets a draft pick and either Armon (or insert Babbit, Eliot, etc instead)
New Jersey gets the original package of Denver players
Portland sends out Miller, Przybilla, Batum, and the rookie (and maybe a pick if need be), but gets back both Harris and Nene.
Who says no?
(if you like, you can try to expand it to include some other pieces that were rumored before - Rudy, Morrow, Outlaw, etc)

I see this deal mostly as a Batum for Nene trade for the Blazers side.
I think Nene is a better player than Batum, but how does he fit with LMA and … the complete absence of potential we will have left.
Ouch. Realization is setting in.
Role Players (good ones, but still role players to me):
Matthews
Fernandez
Cunningham
Camby
Without Roy, Batum & Oden to grow with us, I don’t see where this team is going.
So maybe this trade is good. Get a younger point guard and another big body, even if it simply replicates the sent off Miller the still here LMA. If everything goes well:
Ball handlers:
Harris
Roy
Wings:
Matthews
Rudy
Pivot:
LMA
Camby
Nene
Oden
So my long and wandering conclusion is that if Harris and Roy are willing to set up LMA & Nene BEFORE they are willing to shoot it, this could work. At least we’d be deeper with big bodies, and Paul Allen could be excited for international fans from wherever Nene is from (Brazil, right?).

I don't see us investing to extend Nene's deal and keeping Oden.
That’s the benefit of this deal, not relying on an unreliable player in Oden. Of course, we switch to relying on Harris who has also struggled with injuries.
IF…the Blazers believe Harris can stay healthy
AND…They are sure they can get an extension with Nene, then I think you’d have to seriously consider this.
Those are a couple of big ifs, plus I doubt Denver decides to completely blow it up, but intriguing possibility.

newbie? who you calling a newbie?
honestly, i loooked and did not see a trade drawer.
"I want to be traded to a contender" is almost always code-speak for "I'm a loser."

you misspelled moron you moron
you must be one of those dudes at the rally with a misspelled sign.
Both teams played hard and ball don't lie. Rasheed is the Yogi Berra of hoops. We should start calling him Yogi Sheed.
Although you don't know how to spell moran, I will forgive that because of your sweet profile pic.

I'll be honest...
Firstly, the irony of someone mis-spelling the word “moron” just made my day, so thank you for that.
Secondly, if you’re going to go around mis-spelling things and being so antagonistic, stop declaring you’re a Republican…you make the rest of us look bad.
And lastly...
Cleveland gets Murphy and Johnson for a pick or two? Really?
Here is the source of that particular internet meme

Well, can't complain with that haul.
Nene is top 3 or 4 Center in the league right now and Harris will be an upgrade in terms of age. We’re thin at the wing so perhaps sign Mayo to an MLE in the off-season, provided the MLE still exists.
The cake was a lie.
A team like the Pacers will overpay for guys like Mayo and Carl Landry after the lockout
