Cho: Carmelo Talks Are 'Holding Things Up A Little Bit'

30

Portland Trail Blazers GM Rich Cho told Jay Allen, Jerome Kersey and Terry Porter on Blazers Courtside on Tuesday night that he thinks trade talks are being impacted by the continuing uncertainty regarding whether or not Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony will be traded. More on that here. Cho said it continues to be an active trade season. "We're making a lot of calls, taking a lot of calls, that's just part of the job, listen to things and see if we can make the team better." ------------------------ Injury updates: Cho said Blazers center Marcus Camby would not play on Wednesday night against the New Orleans Hornets and that guard Brandon Roy would be evaluated after the team's Wednesday morning shootaround before a decision would be made regarding his status for Wednesday night. Update (10:52 AM): Jason Quick of The Oregonian reports Rich Cho says no-go for Roy tonight. ------------------------ Last but not least, Cho praised the team's play of late and even shouted out everyone's favorite reserve big man in the process. "[LaMarcus Aldridge] has really played well the last couple of months. He's just been a beast both offensively and defensively. Andre [Miller] has played very well, Rudy [Fernandez] has stepped up, he's really shooting the ball well. Wesley Matthews has done a great job the whole year. Other guys like Dante [Cunningham]. Dante stepped up in a big way last night. We're getting effort from everybody. Sean Marks stepped up and hit a three-pointer." -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
