If the cause of Sloan's departure does turn out to be Williams, I can't imagine he will have much of a future at Utah. I would assume that during the next home game the crowd will let him know exactly what they think of losing their coach of the last 23 years. In fact, I could see that situation getting ugly in a hurry. The Jazz might be forced to move Williams as it becomes apparent that he will not re-sign. Don't get me wrong, there is no way that Portland could or even should get Williams. However, if he suddenly becomes available (his contract expires after next season), that would shake up the current situation in the Northwest division.
