I just wanted to get peoples thoughts on a comparison between Brandon Roy and Chris Paul. If I am recalling correctly the first year when Paul got injured the Hornets struggled and Paul missed a lot of games. The second year he made a comeback and the Hornets still got stomped in the playoffs but looked a little better. I will try to go over the stats after the jump.
Roy:
Roy only plays 47 games and only starts 23 - knees ailing due to lack of cartilage
| Year | Team | GP | GS | MPG | FG% | 3P% | FT% | RPG | APG | SPG | BPG | PPG |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2010–11 | Portland | 47 | 23 | 27.9 | .400 | .333 | .848 | 2.6 | 2.7 | 0.8 | .3 | 12.2 |
Paul:
Paul sprained his ankle and had a torn meniscus which caused him to miss some games.
| 2009–10 | New Orleans | 45 | 45 | 38.0 | .493 | .409 | .847 | 4.2 | 10.7 | 2.4 | .2 | 18.7 |
| 2010–11 | New Orleans | 80 | 80 | 36.0 | .463 | .388 | .878 | 4.1 | 9.8 | 2.4 | .1 | 15.8 |
I guess it will take seeing Roys numbers this year to tell if they are comparable, but Paul actually put up pretty good numbers the games he did play his injured year. He also had one of his weaker years... so let me know what you think...
