A little surprised no one posted this. From RealGM via LATimes. Mentions that Clips. Bucks, Heat and Mavs are interested. No mention of Blazers.

this is crazy to me.

This team needs another big in the worst way. Joel has history here and there is no one behind Camby…..Portland needs to make this happen ASAP.

I don’t think we are interested in him. We have Kurt Thomas. Kurt Thomas is just as good as a defender and can hit that outside shot. Pryzbilla has no offense to speak of.

Mathews, Crawford, Aldridge, Wallace, Felton...

All strong offensive guys. Interior defense is the issue here.

My only worry is that Joel is going to be a step (or two, or three) slow. He’s a few years older with a few knee surgeries under his belt.

I agree that we should try to get Joel.

He is a better on ball defender & rebounder than our other big men. He would also be the best screen setter on our team if we got him back.

Funny that the Clippers are interested… maybe they hope that they can get at least one defender on that team?

Blazers are crazy to not go after Joel

ask yourself, “What will the Blazers do WHEN Marcus gets injured?” Marcus had never has an Injury free season, and now with this compressed schedule it is a certainty that it will happen again. Yes KT was a great pickup, good defender, fair shooter and a veteran at the game. However, without a substantial/designated player at the 5 spot all the dream we are having now about the Blazers challenging for the West will become nightmares if we cannot find another backup 5 spot. Joel has proven his toughness and dedication and i think he is what we would need to push us over.

gotta ask if we wouldn't be hearing this "Get Joel" refrain if we weren't all a bunch of big homers

I mean, you could go over to the website of any other NBA team and you wouldn’t be hearing this refrain. Objectively, Joel Przybilla does not warrant the sort of basketball value that homers on this site are attributing to him.

There might be something to that, but also the fact that he is fimiliar.

We know what we are going to get with Joel. When it comes to players coming to this team I know I have a little PTSD.

When GW went down last night I thought I was going to snap, BTW.

Also, I think the hole that needs to be filled is a Joel sized hole. Sure, Howard would be great to bring over from Orlando, but at what cost? (Rhetorical)

So who else is really out there to play 10 to 25 minutes (sometimes) for the league minimum? Plus trading AJ for a draft pick.
