Rudy has found himself in a good place in Denver.

His girl friend is there with him. There´s a good, relevant and happy international crew among his teammates: Brazilian, Italian, Greek and Russian, three of them starters. George Karl loves him some Rudy. Denver has a young team with enough experience, and more depth than any other team in the league. They like to run, and George Karl allows some free style, which Rudy loves too. They totally destroyed Dallas at home (at half they were up by 30 points, and kept that advantage well over 20 untill garbage time, playing their bench a lot, although it´s true Dallas was in a back to back).
We´ll see.

it's funny

Rudy would fit right in with this new running Portland style.

of course that would just make the logjam worse…

Blazers are now built to defend.

I thinks it´s been coherent to let him go. The problem would have been with Roy in the line up. He was a worse fit than Rudy.

absolutely.

Roy’s “fit” problem was overcome by his immense talent.

Best for Rudy to move on, no doubt, but one can help but wonder if things could have gone differently for him here in Portland. Mostly bad timing for all involved perhaps. Ultimately the problem for him may be that he has the mentality of a big-time alpha dog player, but the talent of a rotation role player. It seems difficult for him to make that adjustments, especially given that he is a very streaky player who thrives on emotion.

crawford's an upgrade over rudy in terms of midrange and close range offense, on ball defense, and ball handling

both about the same being streaky from the outside…and rudy’s the better off ball defender.

I'd say (though I suppose this could change)

JC is also a huge upgrade in terms of moodiness and lack of drama.

also in tense situations...

Rudy didn’t really do well under stress.
I’m sure Rudy likes all of the sunshine in Denver.

i thought rudy did alright under pressure...just not consistently enough.

i remember some games where rudy drained a lot of big shots towards end of close games. i was at one where he sent the game to overtime on a buzzer beater.

Rudy had plenty of chances to show up big time here in Portland,

and he blew them again andagain. I was rooting for him! But he just did not hit wide-open shots.

Me too.

Except when he plays the Blazers.

ah to heck with all this civility

Rudy was a whiny little detriment to the Blazers.

This is my signature. Do you like it?

These boyz can play

I am a bit intimidated by them. No more JR Smith though. He’s in China.

At 1-7 from 3-point land in his first game as a Nugget, he certainly looked like the Rudy we knew.

Yeah,

…but now if he can only hold that rabid pace til the end of the season.

Glad to see Rudy is happy

I love Rudy’s game, and do wish he was still here to hit those 3’s on the break. But, he did fail in the clutch more often than not, and his steals were outnumbered by the times his guy drove by him for the dunk, so… I’m OK…

But Rudy is ultimately an entertainer, and Karl loves the show himself. Sounds like Rudy is going to get every opportunity to succeed with George, and I hope he does. (Unless they face us in the playoffs…)

Weight Room

Is anyone else surprised the first video of Rudy you see in a weight room since coming to the States, doesn’t contain any actual workout footage?

Yeah me either.
