While I feel sad for Brandon Roy, I am excited that the minds of the current players are freed to play the kind of basketball that is more "democratic". I always enjoyed Brandon's great moments but have never been a fan of his style of play. So, while I am sad for him, I am happy for the Portland Trailblazers. Try and remember how well they played last year before Roy started sitting on the bench again, waiting to play. They were a fun Dynamic team with Aldridge playing solidly every night and a bunch of other guys in double digits. A team game. by the end of the season that was all gone as the team reverted back to, what I like to call, Roy Centric basketball. Yes, you can win games with it, like game 4, but when you are playing team basketball, you don't need a performance like that. What I noticed was that as soon as Roy started suiting up and sitting on the bench the team lost it's mojo, knowing that Roy would soon be back, calling for and demanding the ball every time down the court. Really looking forward to watching this season..I just wish Fernandez's team basketball would be part of it.
