Batum won´t play again in Europe before he goes to the NBA.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Correo, Batum asked his agents to get the Blazers permission to play his last game (or games). Agents went back to Batum advising him to not play more games.

but it’s a good sign if Batum chooses to comply

my guess is that the Blazers didn't prohibit it directly

but rather the agent made the recommendation himself

The Spanish newspaper title says "Portland prohibited Bartum from playing in Bilbao".

It says Portland can not talk to players because of the lock out, buy implies there´s always a way for a team to reach a player and viceversa. Explored that option through his agents the answer was NO. I don´t trust that information though. Many people in the midle interested in giving the wrong report. I think you are right. The Blazers just didn´t say yes, and the agents, Batum or the french team made it a no. Blame those guys in the far North West.

Blazers probably do not have the authority to say NO.

But they have the authority to not say YES. And that seems to have been enough for Batum. A good sign from him going into this season.

I can't wait for (St) Nic!

Batum’s play in the Euros has me a little giddy thinking about a 3rd year Nic operating with confidence, and with free reign in an up-tempo offense…

I think Nic’s versatility may wind up giving up more minutes than any other backup 3 in the league, maybe in a long whle. He can come in for the 1, 2, 3, or some 4’s, to play some lockdown D, and then he can just switch positions to give everybody a rest…

I’m a huge fan of Nicola, and am getting very psyched to see him play this year. Please Nate, give Batum the rock, and let him play!
