Blazers C Marcus Camby Played In Houston Exhibition On Sunday

+

Portland Trail Blazers center Marcus Camby is scheduled to play in a Houston celebrity basketball game to benefit the John Lucas Foundation on Sunday. Lucas is a former NBA player and a long-time coach. Update: ESPN.com reports that Camby's team, which also included former Blazers and current Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph, beat a team led by Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, 166-157. Player statistics were not kept. Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle wrote... ------------------ "Optimism is gone," [Houston Rockets forward] Luis Scola said. "We should be playing a real NBA game right now and I'm not. Even if we go back to play, it's not good. It's just the best we can get out of the situation. We should be playing a whole season." Instead, they made do with Sunday's exhibition, with veteran Trail Blazers center Marcus Camby saying simply, "It's not the same." ------------------ -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
