"Cuttino Mobley suing Knicks"
Ugh, another medical retirement gone wrong.
The new CBA should eliminate that altogether.

Yeah I considered linking this too.
It’s an interesting story. Everything from that time period says that this was a pretty big deal, and that it was in his best interests to retire, and there was no sign he was unhappy. It’s so weird that this is reappearing all these years later.
Honestly, if he has a heart condition that includes a recommendation to retire (and as far as I know, that’s the case), then you retire, enjoy your earnings and live the quiet life. Or go into business, or coaching, or something.
The only players getting payed this year
are the ones who had to medically retire or got bought out, no?

cuz
you know…it’s sort of ironic.
Ok. It’s not “ironic”, but it’s kind of funny.
I don’t mean funny in a “ha ha” way though. It’s just. You know. It’s funny. Yeah.

Nah, some guys have deferred payments.
One of those lucky few is Mr. Zach Randolph.
“Paying Randolph the $84 million was a big concession for the Blazers, who on Oct. 29 were offering $72 million. However, the Blazers are deferring 30 percent of his contract ($25 million), which will be paid out over six years beginning in 2012, ESPN Insider Chad Ford reports.”
