Many Blazers fans feel as though they live a tortured fan existence. More heartbreaks than victories. That got me to thinking about some of the worst roster mistakes in Blazer history. Simple question: Who wins between the Greats and the Mistakes?
Greats are defined as a player who achieved his high point as a Blazer (sorry, no using Pippen and his Chicago era production). Mistakes are players who are viewed only on their production after they left Portland.
The Greats: The Mistakes:
G Porter G Fat Lever
G Drexler G Drazen Petrovic
F Petrie F Cliff Robinson
F Lucas F Jermaine O'neal
C Walton C Moses Malone
(Interestingly, the two best "Greats" could also be placed on the Mistakes roster since Walton and Drexler won championships and played at an All-Star level after they were traded.)
