On ESPN, NBA commissioner David Stern responds to the National Basketball Players Association's decision to disclaim so that it could pursue antitrust litigation against the league after declining to accept the NBA's current collective bargaining agreement proposal. "Frankly, by this, I would say, irresponsible action at this late date," Stern said, "Billy Hunter has decided to put the season in jeopardy and deprive his union members of an enormous pay day." Stern also called the disclaimer a "negotiating tactic" and said that the timing of the move "destroys incredible value that would have otherwise gone to the union membership." -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
