It's here! A Facebook page for you to get more information on The Basketball Jones tour stop in Portland.
Here's the rundown: On Sunday, Nov. 6, the Jones will host a free live show at On Deck Sports Bar in NW Portland from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Map here.
The show is conveniently located and scheduled so that you'll have plenty of time to get to wherever Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge is playing his charity game that night at 7:30 p.m. The University of Portland is in talks to host the game at the Chiles Center, so we're talking about a 10 or 15 minute drive to get there. Couldn't be easier.
There's no better way to pre-game for the first live professional basketball in the city in five or six months than with the hilarious group of guys that produce the best basketball podcast on the planet.
Dwight Jaynes of CSNNW.com and I will be there fighting to the death for the right to serve as their comedic foil.
Last night on Twitter, J.E. Skeets set the bar at 100 people attending the show. Certainly we can smash that, right? Here's the Facebook page to share with your friends. We simply cannot disappoint Skeets.
In case you need added motivation for attending, remember that The Basketball Jones was responsible for the last time I got sappy here on Blazersedge, back in July.
If you're somehow sitting there scratching your head asking "What's a TBJ?" their blog can be found on Canada's TheScore.com and their podcast is available on iTunes here. Even if you've never read a word or listened to a second of their work, but would list "basketball" and "jokes" among your interests, you should give this show a chance.
