LOL, good stuff....
Would love to see Deron in a Blazer uniform. Unfortunately though he seems like one of those types that absolutely has to be in a big market. Playing for one of the best coaches in NBA history wasn’t good enough for him. Fans adored Williams in Utah and had no idea the trade was coming. When it happened I remembered saying to myself that if the Blazers had drafted him or Paul, we, would be the ones trying to figure out how and why it happened and be heartbroken at the same time. I’ll stick with what we got, pass.
I feel differently about Deron Williams
I don’t think he’s a big-market jughead like Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant, or Amare Stoudemire. Basketball players are notorious for their groupies, the parties, the clubs, the concerts, the celebrities, the big-screen cameos.
From what we know about D-Will, he never complained about playing for Utah. He complained about management decisions (like trading Ronnie Brewer and letting go of Wesley Matthews), and he argued with coach. Williams is a true competitor who really cares about winning, otherwise he wouldn’t have cared when role-players got dumped. He has a reputation among some journalists for being the one guy, other than Kobe, who is truly “his own man.” While the rest of the big-name stars are playing pick up games together, he’s playing by himself in Turkey (not Italy or Spain, but Turkey), and was one of the first NBA players, period, to sign overseas. He also has a reputation for being a dedicated husband and father. He’s married, by the way, not to a former NBA groupie or a reality TV star, but to his high school sweetheart.
I really think he got traded because it was a great deal, not because he wanted out. The Jazz received at least two #3 picks (Favors and Kanter), another lotto pick that should be in the top-10, as well as the ability to legitimately tank and grab a kid, Alec Burks, with tremendous breakout potential. So, they have three probable stars on rookie deals, the possibility of getting another star on a rookie deal, and Devin Harris, who they should be able to trade for a good role-player or another pick. If I were as smart as KOC, I would absolutely make that trade a million times over, even if I thought D-Will wanted to stay in Utah.
If there was any chance we could get Williams without giving up LMA or Crash, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Sounds like a great guy.
He’s been sucking in Turkey though
Freeman's take:
He may be a turd sandwich in person, but the more I read about/by him, the more I like him.
