There have at least a few fanpages about player-owned leagues and fan involvement that have seemed pretty outlandish recently, so if this seems sort of outlandish I'm pretty sire it makes a bit more sense in a capitalist society than at least the player-owned league. I commented about this in an earlier fanpost, but i'd like to see what you all think.

I was thinking about an ownership model that instead of giving teams one major owner, treats them almost like public companies, with ownership shares being bought and sold on the open market. this probably wouldn’t happen unless teams could become profitable, but It would bring a bit more accountability for the team as far as community and fans go. shares in teams could be bought and sold in open markets.

what do you all think? plausible? absurd? what problems would we run into?
