Normally we don't do chatter threads on game days but I wanted to experiment to see how this goes.  Besides, with Dirk Nowitzki on the menu tonight I had an interesting thought for a question. (Update: ESPNDallas.com reports that Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki has been ruled out for tonight.)

We've talked about LaMarcus Aldridge's improvement lately.  Blazer fans (and some others) are slowly becoming convinced that he belongs among the pantheon of the NBA's better power forwards.  Question:  Where do you rank him among those forwards right now?  With whom does he compare, if not exactly in style, at least in talent, value, and effect on the game?  How far away is he from the Kevin Garnetts or Dirk Nowitzkis of the world, for instance?
