trade drawer - aaron brooks

I'd love the blazers to make a trade for aaron brooks. not only is he an oregon native he's on of the few guys with a great handle, that can cross players over and score from any angle on the court. the blazers need a player like that. look what wade did to us the other day. we need a hot offensive weapon. brooks is it.

i'd trade batum and dre miller to houston for brooks and 6'11 jared jeffries.

i'd also try to swap the latest of out two draft picks for houston's. hey, ya never know.

go blazers

I wouldn't do that.

Brook’s is not a good defender and he will likely ask for “Travis Outlaw out of this world money”

An Oregon native?

I’m not sure about that one. He might have went to the University of Oregon, but Brooks is not from Oregon. He went to Franklin High School in Seattle and is actually a Washington native

What if we sign Corey Benjamin...

bring him out of retirement?

or Malik Hairston

or Roeland Schaftenaar (wonder what he is doing?), or Seth Tarver (we need more SG’s!)

I think he would get dominated on defense.

most players in the nba don't play D

so who cares.
the nba has made the league offense orientated. you can’t play D like in the 90’s. the nba want high scoring to appeal to the fans. ticky tack fouls result in tech fouls these days.

Batum is overated so I say we take advantage and make a move using him.
I’d rather have a starting five of brooks, rudy, wesley, LA, and camby, than miller wesley, batum, LA and camby.

brooks is one of the quickest players in the nba, has a sick handle and can take anyone in the league off the dribble and score in bunches. batum plays good help d but is inconsistent. brooks would be ten times more helpful to the blazers. plus i’d rather have brooks than devin harris.

Fixed it
can take anyone in the league off the dribble and score shoot in bunches

That's absurd

Good teams have players that play defense. Crappy teams have players that don’t play defense. Brooks plays crappy defense.

In addition, Brooks’ offense is very mediocre. He is a poor distributor and not a terribly efficient scorer.

We should bring in more scrub big men; they make good curse fodder.

Toxic offer....

Wouldn’t it be better to wait till the off season when brooks becomes a restricted free agent? Doubt Houston’s fiscally conservative front office would match a toxic offer

I don't know...

Offering him a 5 year deal could be bad down the road. The problem with guys who’s game is based so much on athleticism is one knee or ankle injury and they are done for… on top of that those type of players don’t often go much past 30. Personally I’d take Lowry over Brooks.

I'll go as far as to say that I wouldn't touch that offer with a 10 foot pole

Are you talking about two years ago

Brooks in the Playoffs, or this years version?

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

Isn't the guy that blew up Oden's knee

what’s your game, man? Brook’s has got the curse.

by johnshmidt on Jan 12, 2011 10:32 PM PST reply actions

I like Brooks on the Blazers

I would trade Dre and a first round pick maybe throw in Rudy but I wouldn’t trade batum in the deal

by T*Stroyer on Jan 13, 2011 11:22 AM PST reply actions

Brooks has been on my list for years

Ever since Brooks dominated us in the 09 playoffs, I have wanted him on the Blazers. I’d give up a lot for Aaron..including Batum.
