Sounds like he's a gym rat

Babbitt can be a good player if he keeps working on it. He’s raw but has the talent and work ethic.

if his offensive game is as versatile as his hairstyling he has hall of fame potential.

He's going back to the big hair

and hence, the team is considering retiring his jersey sometime during the 2015-16 season.

the Blazers sent Dante there last August

and he received high marks, from the scouts in attendance

Pendergraph should have, too

Jeff needs all the “instruction” he can get

I really wish the Blazers would give Ben media access. I know they’re running 2v2s and 3v3s down in Tualatin. Would love to hear more about the games. More than the painfully mediocre Blazers official media would report.

I wonder if there's a moratorium

like, no video until Sept 14th

BT Smith used to have the players in shooting drills up on his Columbian banter page. Blazer fans can’t get enough. We don’t need fancy analysis, just some fresh video to look at

I don’t even need video. Just report SOMETHING about the players before guys start reporting. But I guess the players need some privacy too. I’m sure they appreciate the peace and quiet leading up to a hectic season. I’m just a thirsty fan I guess.

Do You Know Where Your Kids Are?

Bill Bayno told us a couple weeks ago that Brandon asked the guys to return on August 30 (last Monday) to begin working out. Mike Barrett said earlier today on 95.5 that 8 Blazers have returned to town so far and are working out at the practice facility. I called and asked Mike who the 8 players were but Mike wasn’t sure (I guess he only heard there were 8 players), but he knew LMA was there and of course Brandon. I heard somewhere else the rookies (Babbitt, Williams, and Johnson) were there (gotta love rookies), but I don’t know who the other 3 players are (assuming there are 8 as Barrett said).

Of course, Batum’s playing for France, Joel and Oden are rehabbing, and Rudy needs to be in rehab. So it isn’t them. I would also expect Miller to show up about 7 pm at the end of Media Day.

I'd be surprised if Matthews and Bayless aren't there

Cunningham, Pendergraph, anyone I’m missing?

Too bad this isn’t like spring football and we can’t go hang out in the bleachers and watch ’em

Yeah, good bets, but Bayless said he "tweaked something" a couple of weeks ago and wasn't able to work out.

Then I heard someone (sorry I can’t remember who – Barrett?) on 95.5 a couple of days ago say he still wasn’t playing because he “tweaked something” and also that Williams was unable to play (didn’t say why – still has the knee problem?). Anyone know more?

that was Bayno

I finally got a chance to listen to the podcast, he said that Jerryd and Elliot aren’t working out yet due to minor injuries

Barrett asked Bill about Bayless as backup PG, I’m going to put Bayno’s response into a fanshot later tonight

There is a report on the Official Trailblazer page on Williams.

He has been flying everywhere to get pick-up games and I believe he is one of the eight at the practice facility.

Bayno said they're holding him and Bayless out

that interview was 2 days ago, and Williams may be in pickup games, now

Bill also said that Steve “hat man” Gordon has been overseeing the workouts at the PF

It is about privacy

The practice facility, for all intents and purposes, is home for the players. It’s their house. They’re not required to be there, but they choose to come back early because it’s a place they can go about their business with some semblance of privacy seeing as its their house. That’s why you’re not likely to hear/see much out of informal pre-camp workouts and runs. It’s helpful to have a place to get into shape without worrying about being critiqued. They’re judged 8 months out of the year; giving them a few months off only seems fair.

That seems fair. Thanks for the reminder.

But what did Brandon have for breakfast this morning?

Also, I'd imagine the players are more likely to work out if they can do it without everyone watching.

And we want to encourage them to work out of course.

punctuation is important, too....

So, does making sense…

Sometimes, punctuation (and proof reading) help make sense of it all.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
